First off having used more than one example (3 examples) for years in a work environment gives me first hand experience with the "delicate little flower" and I have found the flower to be not as delicate as some seem to be tooting about.

Fixed the rounded over dull tip common to Case.
Worked the curve and the rest of the blade. Got the curve sharp.

From what I have seen here one goes to the maker of the steel for the basic info then there are alloy whisperers here that can tweak that to make magic happen.
Personally I annealed and then "heat treated" a file once. :D :rolleyes:
