I think if we just answer the "did I miss" questions with "Yes, you did." the ensuing chaos would be kinda funny to watch. 😼

I'll post this pic here as well, the recurve is VERY slight imho. In fact the brightness of the light here makes it appear more pronounced than to the naked eye. I sharpen my Oilfield jack on a normal stone like any of my other knives 👍

    Lets talk GEC!

The recurve is very shallow, as to be negligible. I don't sharpen my 86 Oilfield any different than my other knives.

Well....not to get on a high horse... (I'm to fat for a high horse anyway, give me a barrel chested stumpy legged mule any day) I do find it amusing to see people who don't participate much of anywhere on BF loosing their sh.....uh..er....marbles ( 👍 )over the forum knife this year.

Help! 2020 forum knife horn cover is curling

Well so far an oil bath hasn't seemed to do anything but make it oily lol. However there doesn't seem to be as much oil in the bag as this morning 🤔 Perhaps tomorrow I'll try hot water and clamps👍

Help! 2020 forum knife horn cover is curling

Thanks for all the input thus far. Going on the surmise that it dried out I gave it a good coat of light oil and put it in a ziploc bag. The way I figure it is that if it rehydrates and goes back then great, but if not I can still try heat and clamping. Most likely to try that with the cover...

Help! 2020 forum knife horn cover is curling

Thanks, I wouldn't be to worried about water damaging the metal, the frame is titanium and the spring and blade steel is stainless. As long as the heat stays below the temper threshold of the steels. Also it being screw construction perhaps I can remove it,boil it then clamp to a rigid flat surface.
