Epic score! I used to own that one's brother, but let it go a couple years ago to KH. It was chunky for sure, a little under 3/8" thick at the spine, and around .090" at the edge shoulder IIRC. Interesting that yours has three bolts on the handle, and mine only had two. They were each unique for...
I’ve got one of those. Mine is sterile though.
Next to a MS for scale. I actually prefer the size of the LU to the MS as a small EDC knife. Basically the same blade with a smaller handle that still allows a solid grip. I do carry the LU from time to time (though I do prefer my carry...
Some old black canvas and tan canvas on a couple SHBMs, and snakeskin on a MOABM.
Some black linen on an ASH1 and some locally sourced black canvas on an ASHBM, both cut out, shaped, and installed by me.
Is there a prize for hastily posed with what was at hand in the garage, just finished 6 hours of yard work, sweaty hat included pics?
EDIT to add a picture more in line with the thread topic. I've had my TAR-21 for over a decade, and it's had a few thousand rounds through it, my best guess...
Lies! All lies! I wouldn't dream of using any of my Busses. Don't you know that they're fragile, and only good for taking pretty pictures to put on Instagram?
Gladius stuck butt first into a burned stump throwing it around in a logging slash.
B7 making some kindling
That’s a beauty, Tony.
Those old D2 Busse 4 Toes don’t come out of hiding very often. There was another one posted not that long ago too. The bacon stars must be in alignment.
And they’re old enough to buy their own bottle of scotch to boot. A true Busse!
That’s a big factor for sure. But for sone reason with S30-35v much more so than other combinations of same steel, different maker, I notice big differences in edge holding. I don’t care for it from CR, from Chavez was a little better, my Surefire EX04 is quite good, my Hinderer is quite good as...
You're absolutely right. The knives are pretty right too. ;)
Now, compare the tang of the TGULB to this
I've played around with my buddies CR GB, and I didn't find that amount of protruding tang uncomfortable. It's a nice knife, and I like it, I just don't care for CR S30 or 35V
I understood it as more of a blend of the two. Not as pronounced as #1, but more like a slightly pushed out #2. Like a Chris Reeve Green Beret but even less proud of the scales. We’re talking about a radiused 48/1000” spread out over .22 width.
Here is .048 in relation to a Bic ballpoint pen...
