Rough Ryder Reserve: New Premium Rough Ryder Line

@HEMI 49 I have some WD40, but i will go buy some more as i dont think there is a lot left, then i will do as you advise. Thank you  I too am quite fond of the Rough Riders. I probably have about half the amount you have, and i admit i pretty much like them all. The fit and finish is...

Rough Ryder Reserve: New Premium Rough Ryder Line

I do like the knife, i just didnt like the colour of the micarta. I thought it would have a little more depth. That could easily of been my laptop screen making it look deeper. The play is the blade being able to be moved from side to side on the pivot The spring is fine. Just a grittiness with...

Rough Ryder Reserve: New Premium Rough Ryder Line

Yeh, its crazy the price we have to pay for knives in the UK. But if we want them we have to pay. No way around it sadly Saying that i doubt i will buy another RRR unless its a pattern i REALLY want. It really isnt worth what i paid for it by a long shot

Rough Ryder Reserve: New Premium Rough Ryder Line

My Kayak came today. Here in the UK it costs over $80 I was totally underwhelmed. The micarta colour is truly insipid. The blades had play in them. Not a lot, but it was there. The one blade was gritty as hell. I was going to send it back but i really do like the shape of the blades so i kept...

    Mad for Micarta Picture Thread

I had a go at making some micarta out of hessian. It's not too bad for a first go i guess. I will have another go soon i think.

    More Old Hickory tinkering.

I started tinkering with some Old Hickories again. They are just so much fun to do. Trying to find different profiles each time. A finished one with sheath. One Kephart inspired with no sheath yet, and two i just reprofiled to play with, maybe tomorrow. One of them inspired by a Canadian belt...

    Any Winkler fans?

I like them so much i wanted to try and emulate the frontier ones. I don't forge as i'm in the middle of a city, and neighbours would not be happy. But i did do a tribute thing out of bronze. . . lol Don't laugh TOO much :D

    Any Winkler fans?

i know the "new" stuff is supposed to be very good . . . and i don't doubt it for one minute. But i prefer his "frontier" style. I have just one sadly . . . wish i had a folder to match.

Rough Ryder Reserve: New Premium Rough Ryder Line

Never had any actual dealings with SMKW direct, so i have no idea whether i would like them, their policies, or they way they treat customers etc. In the UK we tend to buy the RR knives through dealers on our shores, and they have an excellent reputation for customer service. Which i might add...
