"Carl's Lounge" (Off-Topic Discussion, Traditional Knife "Tales & Vignettes")

Not at all. In fact, I was going to save some money by not buying a knife today, and then I realized I could save twice as much by not buying two knives. At this rate, I should have enough saved to not buy a new car in a year or so. ;)

What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

To be honest, I never checked. :) According to the museum, only a tiny fraction of the silver in the dime became radioactive silver-110, and it had a half-life of 22 seconds, so it was essentially gone by the time the dime left the museum. At least that’s what they said.

Welcome back! Current status, known issues, and more.

I just put “Cadet” in a simple search of my postings, since I include it in almost all of my Totin’ posts. Order of results was: 4/28, 5/2, 5/4, 4/23, 4/9, 4/4, 4/17, 5/5, etc. Seems pretty random to me. Edited to add: Went back and did the same search from the Totin' thread, selected "this...

My current phone’s instruction book covers so many peripheral features it doesn’t get around to telling you how to make a phone call until page 59.

All of these electronic bells and whistles put on cars now remind me of when electronic cameras first appeared and had all sorts of features which you didn’t really need, but which made it more difficult to do the ordinary things you wanted to do. Why is the Swiss Army classic, a "classic"?

We were lined up just about to start my oldest grandson’s wedding ceremony several years ago when I noticed the vent was still tacked shut on his brand new sport coat. Five seconds with the Classic scissors and we were on our way. (Faster and safer than a knife blade!)
