I think the prices will jump even higher after this news... Especially with the shortage of 1792 since it was sold to unknown to me buyer. My local stores have only the remainings of the small batch and that's it. 10 yo McKena is hard to find anyway but still can be discovered here and there...

Prices in CA are definitely higher than in FL, judging from what you're reporting in your post. Decent 18 yo Scotch runs around $140-$170. Balvenie is one of my favorites, the Double Wood 17 yo is around $140 the most in my local TW.

I love scotch too but since my "scotch" price range is normally around $50-$70, that fits the bill for a good Bourbon with higher proof and quality, since the Bourbon and Rye standards are higher here in the US than of the most Scotch companies are following across the pond... Will see, as I...

Roughly X4 right now if you are lucky to get to the one or two bottles coming in the store, once in a Blue Moon... This one came from Tampa FL, we were lucky to grab the only bottle for around $180. I also remember Total Wine shelves full of Blanton's, Eagle Rare, Buffalo Trace and such, and...

This is delicious ! I wish I can find those around here... Still we got lucky to find a bottle of EC 18yo to compare it to the excellent Toasted Barrel and Barrel Proof, all of them very good juices.:thumbsup:

Gosh, I thought there is something wrong with me but I see, a fit right where I belong to... :D I'm running about the same count, part opened, part un-opened that I'm exchanging with friends or just giving away... You Gents have a nice weekend, and Brad - thanks again man, love it !

Two new bottles for me, last night Old Forester 1870: And tonight - Old Forester 1897 BIB. Both outstanding and tasty pours, readily available, original recipes, not breaking the bank and low or high proof if you prefer one of those. Great stuff. And BF didn't disappointed again - I found...

Not a slicer but looks very good on pictures... :D Out of 20lb brisket, after 8h on the green egg, half of it's what's left...

last F-Rye-Day, excellent stuff, all of them  The Canadian Rye didn't impress me much, didn't feel any aftertaste, maybe it's me... The two Coalition bottles - top shelf stuff, the Barrel proof was little bit ethanol-y on the front end and the Margaux finished, IMO the wine overpowers...

Well... It is nothing special - yes, price on secondary is dictated by the internet hype - yes. But I buy that Special Reserve in ABS Liquor Store for $24 and you can hardly find anything that it's wheated Bourbon from Buffalo Trace, with such quality, taste and for this price so the Special...

Gentlemen, very nice posts, Marty I agree about the grilling 100% and I think you'll love that Colonel Tylor, the profile is one of my favorites and everyone I know, that tried it, loves it. Brad, I'll get with you on that EC Full Proof shortly, very busy lately and couldn't get to...

Tacticlol Knives II: The Return of Ridiculous

I believe Mantis Knives went out of business long time ago. If you did hold one in your hand, you'll know that it does nothing to do with Spyderco's design and quality. Also there is only one Spydie with such thumb ramp as far as I know.

Friend of mine got one last week, I'll ask him where he got it from and how much and I'll let you know. I was on the same page till I got one. I found out I was wrong. Plenty of space to cook/smoke 17lb (cleaned) brisket in the LX size and if Green Egg seems expensive, there are few other...

I looove smokers... :D I went trough few $60 column, charcoal smokers from various manufacturers but I do everything now on the Green Egg, the best $$ spent for barbeque/smoker IMO... I'm surprised you don't know about the 10YO WJ, last time I tried it, I loved it, little bit on the alcohol...

    Blades & Bourbon

Marty, this WJ 10yo is delicious ! The spread from last night, 12yo JB is good, even low proof you can feel the alcohol in the front and back end but not bad overall. The Saint Cloud was very, very good. With this said, I'd never pay another such price for it if this is sourced from a reputable...

I agree with both of you Gents, wasn't my choice to purchase it, in fact I got in to his mailing list before I researched the owner, after this, I lost interest of the product, it was too much of a marketing package and snobby advertising for me. My drinking buddies recently mention it and I...

This arrived today - 7 years old Saint Cloud, supposed to be rare bottle, anticipated and some how controversial, given the history of the owner of the company... They say it is sourced top shelf Bourbon from Kentucky, somebody hinting Knob Creek (?) which makes me very happy :D Will try it...
