Spark,

On 22 January you extended a challenge to members to see if this forum could hit 9000 posts by 1 February. Some of us took exception to your goal indicating that we forumites, as a general group, were much more prolific than you were willing to give us credit for.

So today, 29 January, the day commencing the weekend we will hit 10,000 posts, it is appropriate to recall your original challenge. And since your crystal ball seems to be so clouded, inquire as to your pick for Super Bowl XXXIII. Odds would seem to definately favor whatever team you DON'T pick to win

While we won't hit 10,000 tonight, I don't doubt that we'll hit it this weekend, so congrats you guys!

BTW, my pick for the SuperBowl is Da Bears. So bet on their opposite.

OK I will personally give a KISS to whoever makes the 10,000 post!

A Columbia River Knife and Tool KISS that is.

Now I do not want some really off the wall posts to get the numbers. This is not the intention of this site but since we are the fun site what the hell. I would like to see some really interesting posts about knives and the philosophy behind them. I would like some really interesting reading when I get back from the Shot Show. I mean some posts that will have Thaddeus, James Mattis, Steve Harvey and Joe Talmadge drooling to jump right in. And while your at it you can provoke a response from Jim March on some REALLY BIG ASS KNIVES!

Of course we do tend to stray off topic sometimes so here is the only one I will allow till we hit 10,000.

I have noticed that many of you have screen names which are not names at all. Some of you have some really weird ones.

Where do you all get your screen names from?

Posts? 238 in the General Forum, which we will get easily by Sunday afternoon at the latest.

Heck, I could see us hitting that by Tomorrow evening if we tried.

Ok, I admit it, this is a blatantly craven attempt to generate posts

Yowser!

Dona,

Great picture. I take it is you behind those Foster Grants
smile.gif
! Is that on your farm or out and about?

I'm having a difficult time, however, figuring out just what knife you have in hand as the jpeg is so small. Is that a Simonich?

I too am to post an image of this grizzed old face later to accompany my heartfelt thanks to Sal Glesser for the Spyderco Military folder he graced me with. I had wanted to get a shot with some B-1B bombers in the background. Alas, today was a "down day" for the military and they were all "buttoned up". Perhaps it is better that way...you folks probably would have made some smart alec comments about there being another "B-1 Bob". Dornan has that label. No imposters need apply.

Spark,

To answer your question, my handle developed when my #2 son teased about getting a personalized license plate for my Miata. He came up with "bald 1" and it topped the list of choices. Been using it ever since. I have a lot of fun with it when driving about with the top down. Alas those days are drawing to a close. My 3 year lease is soon to be up and although I love that car I really need something more practical. Running around with rifle cases sticking up out of the passenger seat (no way they fir in the trunk) just didn't cut it. That and the fact that I couldn't get into many places due to the low clearance. Oh well....looks like there is an SUV in my future.

Oh.....geez.
Mom and Dad named me William.
I got teased alot in school because my last name is McWilliams. Lot's of people called me "echo" because of that.
By the time I got out of highschool, I had converted to "Bill".
Mom's the only one left that still calls me William.

Now,back to DC.
So, you're 31 ? Looks like a 25 year old to me.

Man, you guys are making me blush...

My name came from hearts. I played it so much, and lost so often, that i came up with various incarnations of my name. And actually, Poz has very little to do with my name. But hey, you should see my stats..
