Picked up a pretty rough 3 dot 110 a while back. I was getting ready to send it off for a spa job by Joe and his band of merry buffers when I decided to just work it over myself. I'm very pleased with the results. Top is before, bottom after in the following 3 pics.

Casey, Good job. I got one (same 3 dot) about a month ago at a gun and knife show and the tip on mine showed about the same use. Your brass being worse. I like Mitch just used elbow power and Flitz then sharpened it. This knife like yours came out very handsome and usable. Other than my time and arm power, it cost me 20$ and came with the original sheath. Knives like this make great winter projects as well. DM

Nice Job Casey!!!

What did you do to redden up the handles? As it appears in the pics.

Its almost as if some of you guys dug up the old thread from several years ago about hints on how to clean these up. :D

It looks as though there might be a little dent in the wood from the snap on the sheath. If it bothers you, try steaming it. Put a clean wet rag over the dent and then use an iron for a minute more or less. That will raise the grain. Of course that might effect your nice new finish.

You have a good looking knife. - Bert

bert's steam trick works. Then very lightly sand off any burrs that may have popped-up. DM

David, who is Flitz who sharpens your knives? - Bert

bert, Perhaps if I wrote it:" I just used elbow power and Flitz, then sharpened it." Flitz, is a polishing product.I do my own sharpening. DM

I'm pretty sure the reddening is exaggerated due to not having the white balance identical to the other pic. I thought I could fix that but was in a hurry to combine pics and post.

Thanks Casey,
I should have noticed the contrast differences in your background.

First thought was that you may have used mineral oil or something, on them.
