110: 3rd ver var8 or 4rth ver var1 question

I recently aquired this 110 and have narrowed the ID down to these 2 (see title) versions.
My question is what to look for to determine "integral brass spacer/spring holder" as per Joe's notes.
There is ONE line of separation on the butt of the knife which indicates to me that the spacer and spring holder are part of the right rear bolster.
This leads me to conclude that I am holding a 3rd version variation 8.
Am I reading this knife correctly?

All other data matches both questioned versions...ie: left hand inverted stamp Buck over USA
butt rivets 2 ea side
blade rivet both sides
inlay rivets 2 tiny
rocker rivet brass, headed

Thanx for any and all help

The best way is to check the rear bolsters, if its an integral spacer it is a 3rd, if it is a seperate spacer it cant be a 3rd and must be a seperate brass spacer to be a 4th.

That's the question in a nutshell...
so if it's integral will I see 1 line of separation on the butt

And if it's separate I'll see 2 lines of separation ?

And yes, springholder /spacer is brass

OK so here's the pics... in #1---#3 is this what an integral spacer looks like... it looks to be part of the right rear bolster...

Sit, Nice early model 110. While, I agree with Kevin its still difficult to determine 'all' of what you have from a photo and in hand. It looks to have 2 butt rivets showing on both sides making it a 3ver. 8 or 9 variation. To reiterate my point: Years ago I purchased a 3ver. 3vari. (the first 2 liners)from a long term collector whom I respected. Only thing he was calling it something else. When I recieved it I called it something different than him. So, I called him up and we went back and forth on it. In the end we settled on the 3/3 and this was knowledgable collectors and both had held the knife. So, think about it, read about it and by this weekend post a photo of it in the SPS and let us know what you have. Thanks, for showing us. DM

Well it wouldn't be a Nine, DM.

A Nine would have a right-hand stamp.

I think Sit assessed it just perfect.......his first instincts were correct.

Well done.

I'm still traveling. so I had to download the spec sheet to check this out. I would mark it down in my collection as a 3rd/8th and be very proud to own it.

Nice knife Sitflyer!!

Thanx BG... And thanx to all here who share so much great information!
A year ago the only thing I knew about Bucks was personal experience
and that I liked those 112's with no nail nick!
My first hunch was correct...3rd ver var8.
It still has what appears to be the factory edge and only a few pepper spots
on the blade, which I have become accustom to in these old knives.
It needs a little detail work, but I sure do love it!
It will show up in the SPS when it's ready:)
