I'm totally new to this sight and still a bit lost so I hope I'm posting this correctly.
I recently picked up an older 110 with a polished blade and " Alfred C. Buck" enscribed on it. The scales are also different, they are more red than the standard models, rosewood or cherry maybe? I'm just curious when these were made and how many are out there. Any help or comments are always appreciated. Thank you

If so, these were the 2007 'Founder's Edition" specials for Christmas 2007 available in Wal Marts.

Hi KBeck,

Welcome to the Buck forum. BCCL gave you most of the info; here is a little more. Walmart had been issuing a new Buck knife at Christmas and had so for a few years (note that was the last year they have issued a Xmas Buck). This knife was issued in a collectors Tin with your knife. It also sports a different looking tang stamp than the standard issue Buck knives. It's a very nice knife...I hope you enjoy it.

Unfortunatly I don't have the tin for this one but I also have a 112 founders addition with Hoyt Bucks name on it in the collectors tins, can I assume it's the same kind of deal? Thanks again.

Beck,Welcome.Yes,the 112 you speak of is the same type offering.A Wal-Mart 2006 special edition. You might hang out here and perhaps find the tin for your 110.As their around. That 2007, 110 offering was the first time Buck offered that stamp configuration.DM

The 2007s were recently going for $20 on Ebay ( I got ten) new in the tin. Both the 110 and 112 were $30 at full price at Walmart when issued for sale...

KBeck, welcome to the site, you will find here that you find almost all the information you need and you will meet some very nice people. I have this same knife that a friend I met on here generously offered to send me for free. I have it on display on a bookshelf with alot of other stuff I have been givin from friends and family. This knife is a nice commemorative 110, I recently purchased one from eBay also probably the same guy that Tom did, for 20 dollars, but I wanted a user knife, so I ended up sending it back and coming up with an extra 10 dollars and buying a regular 110 from walmart. I am happy I got one though they are very nice and they look good. Enjoy your knife and I hope you meet some nice people on the forum I'm sure you will.

Sorry about reviving an old post (yeah right:D) But Lisa asked a question in another thread a while ago about one of the Founder 112's.

So I am dragging a 112 and a 110 off the shelves and got to looking at the tang stamp through the clam pack with a loupe and noticed that the 112 has a 2006 (right side T) tang stamp and the 110 has no year tang stamp. Otherwise the same curved stamp.
So I wrote 2007 on the bottom of the still sealed 2007 110 so the kids will know its year some day in the future when I am gone.

But, am puzzled as to why the 110 didn't get the down arrow year stamp.

Any ideas anyone? or.... do some of these actually have the year stamp?

Anyone know if those Walmart tins are geographically distributed? I've never seen one at a Walmart here in CT. Some people mentioned getting them for exceptional deals.

We had them here in California. There must have been a bunch that didn't sell because there were a bunch sold cheap on Amazon and Ebay. The cheapest I got was $19 delivered. In fact, I've given about six of them as gifts and still have twelve of them still in the plastic packaging. Very pretty version of the 110.

Pack, That is the stamp, it was a never used special stamp done on those . Larry O. wrote about in our BCCI late 2007 issue . I thought it was a good looking stamp . DM

Yes...same stamp 2006 and 2007 Founders. But the 2006 112 has the right side T. Just wondered why the 2007 110 didn't have the down arrow. Was what I am curious about.

Guess I just never noticed the difference in the two before.
Maybe just to differentiate 2006 and 2007 is all. Will have to dig out Larry O's write up about it.
