110 Carry Options

I recently got a gorgeous custom 110 from the Buck Custom Shop.
I want to use it but hate having to wear a belt and sheath for this.
Right now, I just slipped the bare knife in my back pocket.
Does anybody see any problems with this?
Are there any other options to carrying the 110 without needing a belt and bulky sheath?
Thanks all.

I don't like the feel of any knife that size in my back pocket, especially when I sit down. On the other hand, carrying one in your front pocket may just get you alot of attention from the ladies!

I have a nylon horizontal belt sheath for mine. I carry it next to my belt buckle on the right side. It's not very bulky at all, I often forget it is there until I I take off my belt. You can also drill and tap one of the bolsters for a pocket clip.

When I recently picked up a 110 at Walmart, I was a little bummed that it came with a nylon sheath. Once I tried it in the horizontal position, I was more than pleased. I too wouldn't want a knife like that in a back pocket, especially a custom, for potential aches & pains, as well as fear of losing it.

Some of the Cabela's pants come with a special velcro pocket that fits a 110 perfectly and sits right in a handy spot to get at it.

Thats about the only way I'd carry a 110 in a pocket.

This will sound like heresy to some, but there's also the 'option' of having a pocket clip mounted on your 110. There are quite a few makers/customizers doing it.

I personally don't like the look of a clip on a 110, at least the way most of them are done ('bolted on', basically). If someone were to more cleanly (seamlessly) integrate a clip into the handle, I might favor it a little more.

Adding a clip to a 110?

The mob carrying torches and pitchforks will be showing up at your place tonight for sure.

Yep. There it is, that 'heresy' thing.

That didn't take long... :p

For what it's worth, when I do carry a 110, I'm usually inclined to just carry it in my front pocket (sans clip). If one REALLY wants to carry the knife, a solution can be found that's suitable. You just gotta WANT IT. ;)

I left front pocket carry and if its a niceun, I try to remember not to keep change in that pocket. N/S and niceuns go in leather sheath mostly.

I dont like the clip on a 110 either(or any knife for that matter) but surely not a Custom Shop:eek:

I have a custom sheath made by a maker on here, its a custom mould half sheath with steel clip on the back, very well made and my 110 was used as the mould so it fits perfect. It was made by i think Cris Hindley,he makes awesome leather guys.

I'm carrying a 110 again after many years. In same place I've carried big folders all my life. Left back pocket, blade tip up, snuggled right in next to wallet. 1 oz or 7 oz, no matter to me.

If your able, do a Buck forum search on 'sheaths', there are several long threads with photos of carry methods for all size Buck knives. Front, back, side, neck, you name it.

Back pocket carry is fine, I do it all the time. Alongside my wallet or a folded up bandanna to hold it vertical. After a day or two you'll never even notice it. When wearing jeans, I sometimes carry it vertical in my front pocket. Sounds awful, but after the same day or so, it's easy to forget it's there. I think the weight issue is overblown myself.

lol! :D

i don't care much for sheaths either. i carry a 112 in my front pocket, i wear loose jeans and a leather belt most of the time so it's not a problem. a cool pocket sheath might work better tho.
