Hi guys! I've been working over the phone with Leroy on a 110 LL. He provided me with a couple of liners from the NS Green LL Buck did a while back, as Leroy told me he was a big part of the project.
With his guidance, I have a finished product. This is my first LL 110.
He suggested that I make the blade stop (formerly the rocker pivot bar) look as though it has a lock bar, and let me tell you I've (instincitvely lol) tried to close it there a couple times ha!
Not sure what to do with this one yet, I think I need to add a clip to it (I have a couple of clips that I think are off the odyssey)
You guys think I should add some venting to it in the scales and/or a pocket clip (stamped buck knives with the triangle logo)? I'd appreciate any input.

Thanks for looking!

Very knice, no offense but I'm not a huge carbon fiber guy, but I like the cf "backspring" look alot.

My opinion is you need to send that to me for about a years worth of T&E! That's nice! I DO like carbon fiber and that bad boy looks very slim and trim. A clip is mandatory I think, but the venting I could do without. Great job!!

Thanks Ima, and B. Yeah some folks like em some don't. I'm getting back to some wood and stag etc. soon but
I'm on a carbon fiber building binge right now! I like to carry a 110 daily and the CF is so light and strong.

I Like the CF liner lock. Make one for me with blue CF scales and black CF backspring, no vents and let me see what the clip looks like befor you put it om mine! ;)

Maybe you should do a pass around with that one....I'd like to feel it, use it, and then buy one or 4.
Very nice work.

Thanks guys. It's this kind of support that can make a young man more ambitious.
I couldn't have done it without Leroy. He supplied the liner for the LL. They look very hard to make. I may try some out of Titanium soon.
Always looking for suggestions !

That looks fantastic, especially with the fake backspring. I'm normally not a huge carbon fiber fan either; I think CF and fake CF are a bit overused, especially in automobile modding so I'm a bit weary of the carbon look. However, you did a great job with yours!

I think you should leave it without vent holes. IMO, the lines of the knife will look cleaner in this case if you do so. Just enjoy the beauty of the carbon fiber usage here and your great sculpted 110-esque lines with the fake backspring bladestop. (Again, great job with that, it looks really nice)

CF is  for me and the LL looks great. The only problem with CF customs is the custom price tag. I got a CF Spyderco LUM with S30v that only cost $130 and the CF customs I've seen lately almost triple that.
Put a clip on it but leave the venting out.

Nice clean look on that one:thumbup:
With a pocket clip I imagine that one would
carry real comfy.
Is there a hidden pin acting as a bladestop or does
The carbon fiber backspacer act as the bladestop?
How well will the carbon fiber hold up as a stop if that is the case ?

I've seen Customs sell for 20x what a comparable factory knife is worth :)

Thanks! This CF is full weave and very strong. I often pass around a small length about 1/8 thick and 1/8 wide and offer people 20$ if they can break it. No one has.
I think it will hold up quite well. The lock up is "like a vault"
I will EDC it as I do all my "prototypes" to see how it performs and keep you posted.

Ok maybe 10x is a more accurate number. How much more does a artists original sell for compared to a mass produced copy?

I know this thread wasn't intended to discuss the price compairson between custom and factory, so I'll just say this. If you only plan to make one than you can charge any price you want, its a one of a kind. If the point is to make several, Why would someone buy a semi custom at a price they can get a simillar factory knife that has better steel and at a lot lower price? Customs are cool but they are only worth what someone is willing to pay for it, and the re-sale is horrible. For instance, I had a limited edition(1 of 500) Buck( model # 9 something) Dagger with giraffe bone scales and damascus steel and a price tag of around $500. I couldn't sell that thing to save my life, and It was made by Buck, was in mint condition with a COA. It just didn't hold its inflated value. SO, I took a lose.
