I received some 20" Ang Kholas in a shipment from Craig today. Whew! They are huge and heavy. The blades appear to be about 50% thicker than the other models and they weigh in at around 3 or 4 lbs-like a small hand sledge.

The handles are rosewood on both the knife and the chakma and karda. I don't think I could actually wear one on the belt. I'd be afraid it would pull my pants down. Want a man sized Khukuri? This is it. I'll try to get it photographed and on the site tommorrow along with the elegant silver handled Bhojpure. You're welcome to the images if you need them, Craig. So what's next?

What's next? I have a request for some silver handled engraved mini-jungles. I also have some little bitty khukuris that I haven't had time to post yet. I'll be sending a couple out for gifts, but I think these may start to arrive pretty regularly. They make great presents - and they are forged! Imagine that.

Scott M. was the one who requested the silver MJs after his brass mini came in without engraving! I still have that one. Pretty, but not what the Scottsmeister likes to collect.

Incidentally, I got a call from one of my regulars today who thought that the 20 inch ang khola handle was sent to him as a big joke - he always asks for big handles, and, well, he got what he asked for!

(He should see my one and only buffalo head!)

Seriously, the handle is a bit big for my hands, but handles very well in axe mode. I did some wood splitting yesterday with one for the fire, and it performed great. I'm going to leave the edge on mine rather dull and axe-like. That'll make for a more suitable axe edge.
