The first Manix I owned did not suit me very well, as I felt it was a bit too thin for it's size, and it was also just too wide when closed.

After reading about the recent lock failures, I decided I needed another, so I could see for myself about the lock.
I traded into one, but unfortunately, my lock does not fail the spine whack.
I had kinda hoped to dismantle it and find what was going on.

Good news for me though is that this time around the Manix suits me much better. Fits my hand nicely and I realize that if it was a bit thicker it would be too much. Does not seem as wide this time either, for some reason.

My 80MM will be here tomorrow as well, so the week is starting off nicely.

:D Spoken like a true "techno junkie"! :D That's got to be one of the funniest things I've ever read, "unfortunately , my lock does not fail the spine whack". Kinda like saying, unfortunately, I'll be able to keep my fingers when I use my knife. LOL ;) Thanks for the laugh!

Best wishes,

P.S. Very nice thing you did, Mike, giving your knife to SAKcollector!

I too wish it were thicker in the blade and it took me a while to warm up to it too. But then, it took me a long time to warm up to Spyderco in general. But once you're there...

You should try the Chinook II. It's like the Manix, but different. :D
