top -- 20 inch two pound Sirupati by Kumar. Fit, finish, hardness all right up to highest standards. Only problem is this: Horn had some kind of irregularity Kumar didn't like so he made a horn plug to fill an area about 3/16x1 inch and did such a good job you can't hardly see it. Good karda and chakma and nice size. Karda has hairline crack in handle but it won't go anywhere and doesn't need superglue. Same old perfect scabbard and frog by village sarki in new leather. Take it home for $75 and use it for 100 years with no problem.

center -- 16.5" 27 ounce WWII model by Kumar. Excellent work. Only problem with entire rig is some rust near tip -- about 15 or 20 minutes cleanup saves you fifty bucks. Delivered to your door for $75 with full guarantee.

bottom -- Very sweet little 15 inch, 23 ounce AK by Sanu. This guy consistently does top of the line work and he's done it on this one, too. The only thing wrong with the entire rig is the knife took a hit during shipping and a chuck of wood got knocked off the handle -- front at buttcap -- about 3/16 gone. Some wood filler will fix it or use as is with no problem. $50 savings. Take it away for $75 along with a lifetime guarantee.

Call or email if interested.

Hah! haven't been first in line in a while! The WWII looks pretty fine, Bill! I'd better not, but you guys should jump in there to keep me out of hot water with the wife!

NICE! NO NO NO Slapping my head against my willow tree out front. I need to take a cold shower! LOl

Uncle, you said I wouldn't last a month. I'm trying!

The sirupati was a nice catch - it's got great lines. It may be the angle of the photograph, but the curve looks very smoother over the whole length, even into the handle - sort of hanshee-like. My 20" Bura is pretty straight, then drops sharply. But I imagine both styles will chuck some wood!

You could try slapping a khuk against that willow tree....maybe a 16.5", 27 oz WWII would do OK.

:D

Trimmed the dogs nails, gave her a bath, took a shower myself.
Needed one after giveing my blue heeler a bath.

Come on guys, give me a break. Trying to catch up with you, all. Since joining this forum in the last month, have obtained:
15 in Durba AK
12 in Kumar Sirupati
15 in Bura Bowie
15 in Kumar Sirupati
Kumar BAS
Kumar 16.5 in WWII
Kumar 21 in Chitalanga
18 in AK from new kami K.S.
Bura 16 in Chiruwa AK
Bura 16.5 in WWII
3 EA Kagas katnes (letter openers)

HIKV got ahold of me, but fulfilled a life long dream of Khuks. Time to slow down, at least for a month, unless some Villagers show up.
FORGOT = Got a 17 in Khuk from local junk shop. Sharpened and cleaned up to mirror finish and edge holds against some hard wood. 2 lbs, looks vaguely like an M43, not sure. Only has 'India' stamped on it, don't think it is a tourista model, appears well built, wood handle, pinned two places. Solid tang, raised a little where the one ring is on the handle. That's what really got my interest going again! I really like the normal workmanship coming from HI.

Think I have a package to pick up! Got to go check the mail! LOL

Such deals.....sooo hard to resist.

Why do I check in here? It's like an AA meeting in a brewery!

Bill, haven't seen any Kesars in a while??

Ics37; you passed me a long time ago, and you've only been here a month. That pet list reads like a 'who's who' of khukuris. I didn't know there were any Durbas left. How do you like your 25" AK?

munk

Edited the post. That's a 15 in AK by Durba not 25 inch.
and a 15 in AK 'BOWIE' by Bura.

I guess Kesar is back to being old reliable and not producing any blems or oddities...

Uncle, I think the photos lately have been excellent, no matter how much you have to struggle with the camera. Just clean, clear, and good for inducing mirror-polish-related heart palpitations in yours truly...

I always miss the best sirupati deals - what a knife $75. Uncle you just love to give things away !!

I want one !!

:grumpy:
