top -- 18 inch 20 ounce Kobra by Kumar who designed this knife. It's a 10/10 effort by Kumar. Only problem with entire rig is Kumar filled a slight irregularity in the horn handle with his own brand of epoxy. Take it home for $75. Good buy.

center -- 15 inch pound and a half pretty beefy BAS by big brother Sher. Another 10/10 effort by a very fine kami. Only problem with entire rig is a couple of grainlines in the horn handle which will probably never go anywhere. Mil style frog. Get yourself a top quality heavy duty BAS for $75.

bottom -- Very good 15 inch pound and a half AK by new kami. The only thing I can find wrong with this rig is the handle has a filled spot (new kami epoxy filled) next to the buttcap about the size of a half grain of rice. Gotta look close to see it. But this keeps it from being perfect so we'll deliver this very good rig to your door for $75.

Call or email. Take all three for $200.

Very nice, but Tohatchi, you never told me what you were interested in, so I'm keeping out of it......Enjoy:)

My appetite is sated for the moment. I have a replacement AK in the mail from uncle Bill, and that should hold me for a month or so.

But I do have some Christmas shopping to get out of the way, and I think a lost little BGRS has been calling to me from Reno.

:D

Please define BGRS

Best I can come up with is Bura Gelbo ? Special

Anyone list the ancroymns for the different styles?

Maybe another subject, but would be interested in the proper pronounciation for the different styles. May have to call Uncle to hear it over the phone. :)

Bill,

The picture of the 18 inch Kobra is different than the ones I have handled physically. The endcap has three endcap nuts instead of just one! In the past, the only Kobras that carried three "nuts" were the 25 inch and 30 inch Kobras. In fact, one of the nice things about my 22 inch Kumar Kobra is the length without the added weight of the two extra endcap nuts.

Any one else notice this, or have I been away too long?

Rene

;)

Uncle, I hope you'll keep one more BAS like this one for the next month (when I'm supposed to finally get my paycheck?);) It almost hurts to see so many beauties pass by, and by...

Saving, saving, saving...

Anyone have a 12 inch AK they want to let go for a "reasonabe", ie cheap price? Need it as a companion and mate for my 12 inch Sirupati.

The kobra got here today. As soon as I got it home I sharpened it up and gave it a serious field test. It cuts wood almost as well as the 15" AK, and feels great in the hand. Several more 3" diameter locust trees are now neatly limbed and stacked in 3-foot lengths on my hillside.

One of these days I need to start a thread on handle shapes, I've finally figured out what works for me. Even though this handle is narrow, it has that wasp-waisted profile that really feels comfortable during hard work.
