3 Things I've Noticed About the Tachyon

First: I love it!!! This thing is amazing to flip, so smooth and quiet, and with the same incredible quality that all my Microtechs exibit. Despite having fairly large hands i really like the size of the tachyon. My 35 allways takes a little getting used to after flipping 4 inchers, but this thing just feels very natural. The fit and finish are perfect as you would expect from an MT and has an edge plenty sharp enough to shave with. The impecable fit and finish leads me to my next observation...

Because everything fits together so perfectly, i have found that the mid part of the latch actually gets "wedged" into its channel on the non-latch handel enough to keep the bali from swinging, mid-manipulation. Anyone else notice this?

The last thing is that, allthough it latches very tightly (yet not too tight) in the closed position, it latches very loosely in the open position. When locked open, the latch can rattle around a good bit and takes very little effort to pop open.

So, bottom line is this knife is amazing and i would have to agree with Mike 100% that it's unlike any other bali out there (or at least the ones i've seen:) ) Thanks Mike!

Thanks for noticing that :)

I think it is more important to keep the knife closed when not in use than to close it after use. Anyone agree?

I hope we have solved many problems that occur with balisong knives. I am certain that with time we will refine the defintition of what makes the perfect bali!

Can we start with the tang pin?
How is the tang pin installed on the Tachyon?
Inquiring minds want to know....

Yeah! Come with it!:D

I agree Mike, having the bali be more secure when not in use makes sense. And when you put it like that, I'm impressed! I do a lot of open pivots though, and that's when and where i noticed. When doing them it just doesn't feel quite as secure, allthough i'm sure it is.

Clip Question: I love the idea of a clip on a bali, and especially one of such perfect size. I wonder how difficult it would be to design a clip that could be ordered seperately and then attatched to the handels where there are already screws and holes for the latch gates...any possibility?

Thanks for the information Masse....nice of you to post it!
