$355 for a Buck 651 "Pigsticker"????

One on the auction block now. $355 with a day left!

I may need to dig mine out for that price!

Is that a fluke or have they really gone up that much?!?!
 
I saw that auction back around half the price and wondered where it would end up.

I have one I'll be happy to part with at 2/3rds that price. :)
 
Lucky seller.

Happened upon a couple of guys that really want one and all the nibble-bidding has driven it sky-high.

It IS a fairly unique and rare hunk of pig iron, though.

I just picked up mine at the pasedina knife show. I have been looking for a while and saw the one at the show and almost knocked someone over trying to get at it. Got it for a steel (lol)
 
Wow, just wait for the sniping bids to come in at ~5 seconds.
For the uninitiated, what's so special about it? I looked at the auction photos and while it's a nice looker, I didn't think it worth better than 3 bills.

Well besides the gigantic size they are discontinued by Buck and now a collaberation with TOPS

Being unfamiliar I searched it to see what it looked like and the first listing that came up had it for sale for $119, $355 is crazy.

I actually stuck a pig with mine LOL!...The whole story of the 651 is neat and few are for sale for less than 100.00.It's one of the longest Bucks ever made..I made mine my 'Truck Buck' and plan to dye the whole handle black,sharpen the false edge and re-profile the point,add a finger curve to the choile and have the edges razor sharp.It will then be thinner and easier to chip,but,more useful as a self defense knife.. I might add a inch or so of serrations too if I find the right pro to work on it.It's impressive right out of the box tho.

I didn't order. I stopped after the page opened.
But I didn't read what was written there - anything with amazon.
