Anyone else see the new light by 4sevens. Pretty sweet little light.

"The S12 is the new benchmark for ultra compact, insanely bright tactical and duty flashlights. It is the smallest flashlight in the world to use the SST-90 emitter.

It features both current and thermal regulation - this means it can take serious abuse and be exposed to harsh conditions, but it will automatically control its output to protect its own guts. That means you don't worry about your light - you just use it.

The S12 also runs off one of our own special lithium-ion rechargeable batteries. It's called a 26650, and it packs enough energy to power the S12 at 800 lumens for an entire 90 minutes.

Operation

The Maelstrom S12 features a simple, two-mode interface that takes only a few seconds to master. To start, please make sure the S12 battery is inserted with the positive side (+) toward the head. Then, tighten the tailcap fully down and the S12 will turn on. Loosen the tailcap a half-turn, and the S12 will turn off.

The S12 tailcap has a pressure-style switch. When the tailcap is loosened a half-turn, simply press the button on the back to activate the light. The switching mechanism is momentary, which means when you stop pressing on the button, the S12 will turn off. To 'lock' the S12 on, simply tighten the tailcap fully down again.

To switch between the high and low output modes, turn the S12 off, and then turn it on again within 1 second. Anytime the S12 is turned on within 1 seconds of being turned off, it will automatically switch to the next mode. However, if you leave the S12 off for 2 seconds or longer, it will "memorize" the last mode used. See the examples below:

Example 1: ON (High mode) --- OFF (1 Second) --- ON (Low Mode)
Example 2: ON (High mode) --- OFF (2 Seconds) --- ON (High mode)"

Looks like a nice light. I carry a Moddoo M2 head on a custom C2 body. It pushes 1400 lumens. Have one of his 2400 lumen lights too, but it is bigger. The flashlights bug can be almost as bad as the knife bug.:o:D

I can remember when a 65 lumen Surefire was da bomb. Things have sure changed.

My latest toy in this genre is the Fenix TK35. About the same size of S12 (though maybe one notch bigger), cranks 800 lumens, and feeds on 2x 18650. Incredible.

I do think I'll have to get an S12 when they hit the market, assuming those 26650 batteries are readily available. I'm not familiar with them. But 800 lumens from a light this size was only a fantasy a couple of years ago.

800 lumens, crazy! I need to pick up some nice AA powered ones, something along the lines of the fenix ld10.

That is a lot of lumens for a such a compact light. I still like my Catapult 1000 lumens for the car. Makes for a solid club ;)

Yeah, I carry a Fenix L2D Q5 in the car, mainly because of the AA. Might switch over to a TK15 though, and just carry a bunch of extra CR123s in the car....

Customs are the way to go if you want the brightest and smallest. Whats the runtime on that one? Like that orange touch also.

i really like that flashlight P-Noodle but i never heard of those batterys, where do you get them from? thy are rechargable only? the site said it works on 4x 123a also, and they seem easy to find these days and i hear nothing but good things i may pick one of these up

Seems to be some discrepancy as to the actual output in that discussion. Says that the 800 is acutally just a 3 min burst and more along the lines of 400.

Well if you look at the output graphs on most flashlights the line for output drops fairly fast. Give it a couple weeks and there should be some good reviews on the flashlight.

Ya I dont really need one but thought it was cool how small lights are getting.
