5,000 posts! Whew!

Spark and I started this site on October 2nd, 1998. As I write this we have 15,379 memebers, 117,380, threads and 967,090 thats nearly 1 Million posts!

WOW (Pun intended :) )

I just wanted to take a moment and reflect on what we have accomplished here and thank each and everyone here for making this THE place to be for knife discussion. Those who have been here since the begining and even before the beginning know all that we have gone through to make this place possible. Although I am no longer at the helm, BFC will always be a part of me and perhaps my best accomplishment in my professional life.

One of my original goals was to provide you, the knife enthusiast (now known as Knife Nutt :) ) with a relaxed atmosphere in which to enjoy some conversation about the hobby we all enjoy. I think we have accomplished that.

I hope you are enjoying what we have here and and a big thanks to Spark and crew for the continued wonderful job they are doing.

Thanks Mike/Spark. I'm still very new here, but I know for a fact that the forums have already helped me a helluva lot and had I found it earlier I probably would have saved myself from a lot of frustration and stupid mistakes early on in my "Knife Nut" career. Thanks for all of your hard work.

Edited to add...128 posts and counting...

Howdy There....!
Just also wanted to add my thoughts on the bladeforums. I have and still learn something new from this forum everyday. It is the most informative place to go to for knifemaking knowledge. You can ask anything about forging or stock-removal and you will get an answer on how to. Thanks for creating this wonderful source of information.

Later "possum"

Hey, if anything, I feel like I should be thanking you guys! You created this, gave it to us for free, and didn't expect anything in return. So from me, and I'm sure from everyone else, THANK YOU!

This definitely has been accomplished! I am one of those who have been here before the beginning, and it's wonderful to see how the site and membership has grown. I have made a lot of good friends through BF, which is one of the many things I have gotten out of this place.

Mike,

I have a lot to thank you for. Thanks for helping to "forge" this forum. Bladeforums has provided me with a great deal of useful advice, interesting knowledge, and entertainment. It's made my life a little better.

You've done a great job. This is the friendliest forum I know of, and tied for most informative.

Huzzah to Mike!

it has been great to be a part of bladeforums. Sparky is doing a great job at the helm these days! When I started, there was less than 1/3 the members we have now. I have met may great people though the forums, and consider some folks here to be like family. Thanks all.

For some reason Knife people are the best people. Today i was at the mall saw a guy reading a tactical knives mag so i struck up a conversation.

Nice guy we talked airport security, knives, Bostons new knife laws, he showed me his inova x5 and SOG sculptura.

I am glad there are is a place for us to gather converse and relate.

I will be excited when i reach 1/10 of the number of posts Mike has!

Bladeforums forever

Brian

(i promise to upgrade my membership soon)

I would also like to thank-you for this awsome site, which I mostly blame for my steadily increasing knife obsession:p Of course it isn't a bad obsession, just expensive:D :D :D :D :D

This is far and away the best forum for a knife knut to be on the net. THANKS for that!! And thanks for the addiction :)

This is the best forum. Many thanks to you and Spark.

p.s. I am now one post closer to catching up to you. ;)

I spend a fair bit of time on this forum as you can tell the number of posts I have. Some people on this forum even acuse me of having no life (all in fun I think).

What I have learned about knives since I started hanging out here is amazing. I never could have gained this knowledge any other place.

It has been a lot of fun so far and it will continue to be so, long into the future. I am amazed at the rate this forum is growing and even though it does not always have that relaxed atmosphere that Mike mentioned, it is always enjoyable.

So thanks to all those that have made this place so enjoyable for me. Mike, Spark, all the moderators that do such a great job and all my fellow members without which this forum would be nothing.

You last three guys ain't far behind me!

Hey Tom, Thanks for the Hat. I wear it everyday! A guy asked if I was Tom Mayo. I said I wish :D

Remember what we talked about ;)

Enjoy all!

Nooooooooooo!!!!!!!!! When did MAYO pull ahead of me?

I came over in 3/99 - didn't seem like there were 5,000 posts on the whole of BF at that time. Quite a milestone, Mike.

PS: Does this mean I should throw away my paper WOW catalog?

It's great that I somehow found bladeforums.
I've learned quite a bit here, and glad that I've found the forum... I have a feeling that BFC actually found me instead.
Knife people is definately one of the best bunch. Heck, does anyone here knows a company other than a knife company that would still cover your knife even if you take it apart? The only one I know is the fountain pen companies, and that's because usually you have to take a pen apart.
People have been great here, and I've learnd a lot.
If you guys think that 5000 posts means you have no life (yes you do), then look at this, I know a mod in a computer forum that has 25609 as of today!

Thank you, Thank you, your welcome, your welcome.:D

Everyone here has done a fantastic job. The members have been helpful, and hilarious in turns, the moderators have moderated...even VG and his alter ego. Spark has done whatever it is Spark does...oh yes! pay the electricity bill!!:D A big thanks to Mike for getting the ball rolling.

I've been here since the beginning, and every day I drop in to see what's going on and maybe learn a little. Sometimes I even spend a little. ;)

There is no way I'm ever going to catch up to some of you guys in post counts. That's o.k. I'm still having fun.

This is the place to be, of all the other forums out there dismusbedaplace cause there ain't no place like it anywhere else.

This has got to be the best forum in cyber space, I've leared a lot and hope BF is around to see my 5000 post :) keep up the great job folks.

May all your dreams be wet and the sheets you stain be someone else's. ::TMH1969
:D

Thanks Mike, Spark!!!!!! This is the only web site I make it a point to visit several times everyday. It's really amazing how many great friends I've made here on the forums. This place is awesome!
