So there I am trying to be the good hubby and make a nice fire on a cold Upstate, NY night. I'm having the time of my life splitting ash (very hard wood by the way) when my 5 gets hung up in a piece. I yank it free but in the process feel a sudden cold/burning sensation in my left thumb.
Holy Crap, this knife is sharp. I had just re-profiled and polished the edge and shaved the top of my hand with ease. Well, it went through the skin with the same ease.
My wife sees me dart into the house and into the basement to take the obligatory photo. She comes downstairs to see what is up and sees the bloody paper towel now against my hand. Her exact words are, "am I driving to the hospital now, or can you handle it." She also made sure to tell me there is something terribly wrong with me if the first thing that pops into my head when I cut myself is I have to take a picture for the guys.
I've driven more times than I care to remember. Ever since I discovered Superglue, unless I actually remove a body part, Im gluing it closed. All you have to do is stop the bleeding and get the glue in there, seal it up and voila, you are back in business. In this case, that means back out into the garage and back to splitting. There was fire to be made darn it!!
Enjoy!
