5 Spike Hawk's field test

As tight as money is everyone deserve's a break now and then,here's 5 Spike Hawk's that i field tested today,needless to say the head's passed with flying color's and the hickory handle's kept getting in each other's way for some reason,these are rough forged out of 1065 square stock,hardened and sharpened with a razor sharp edge.If somebody were to clean them up and stuff a nice piece of Curly Maple in it they'd be ready for Rendevous's or what ever,I personally enjoy having some of these laying around just to keep in practice for throwing and chopping kindling for the forge.I'll warrant the head for as long as i live or can't swing a hammer anymore,They'll be on the fixed blade for sale forum as soon as i put new hickory handle's in them,better get one while they last
 
Those are really nice! I rather like that you left the hammer marked in. Can the spikes be sharpened? If I had the money I'd be all over those. Keep up the good work. BTW, what did your Field test involve? Thanks,

wildmanh i am my own worst enemy when it come's to testing these thing's throwing and chopping more throwing at different species of tree's and what ever else 's get in my way will i'm out on my walk,oh yeah there good for choppin bones to, if it can be destroyed i can destroy it,i guess it's because of my short fuse for stuff that don't perform the way it's supposed to,i abuse every Hawk i forge before i sell it
 
that's what i call a good hawk.

i bet Marines'd love some of those in Desert MARPAT.

I keep coming back to this thread to drool. Just got a hawk a week ago and I'm already planning my next 2 purchases. Thinking I have Hawk Fever!! :D

I understand you will be forging another run of these rough looking souls in the future? I think I'll have to pick one up then. I've already bought myself too many goodies recently. This will be a nice gift to myself later in the semester!

Sound's Good Steve, The other two are holding up Great and doing a real good job In the Camp, Yep If I dont get one of these Spike Hawk's I'll get one when you Hammer out some more, Take Care & Keep On Hammering Them Hawk's !
 
Snake Dr. if I may, what other hawks did you get from Steve?

Steve, I'm wearing my Cold Steel Trail hawk today as I work on leather sheaths and I keep telling me self "The faster I make sheaths, the sooner I can get one of Steve's Spiked hawks". My room mates think I'm crazy!! :D
