5160, Walnut, N/S fighter

I love it. Very much a bowie style fighter in the style that I prefer. Love the wood you used for the handle. Tell us more about the knife, please.

I've got a new finish on my wood handles. 9 out of 10 people pick it up, rub the wood and say "its like glass". I hope so. It takes me 30 days to get that way.

Blade is forged. I guess you can't see the temper line in the photo. Stop by table M24 and let me know what you think.

Both of them look great, very nice job.I really like the one with the fancy grip.

Dan,
Those look great! The finish and workmanship appear very clean and the shape and styling really works. Please show us more of your work! Better yet, put up a website so we can drool even more :D

Now tell us - what kind of wood is that and how did you get it so smooth and creamy?

Wulf,
I will have a website up sometime this summer. www.farrknives.com I'm better at working in the shop than writing copy for the website.
Wood is walnut. 7 coats of oil, sanding and rubbing with pummice and rotten stone. I consulted a custom gunstock maker and a bamboo flyrod maker for help. Time consuming but I think it is worth it. Handle finishing seems neglected in many cases.

Wow

Seven coats of oil and lots of rubbing... sounds like a pretty typical Friday night for old Wulfy :) Just kidding.

Anyway, that Walnut really does look great. As does the stag on that hunter you posted. The quality of your work shows not only in the premium materials you use but in the finished product as well. Keep up the excellent work - I may have to own one of your beauties myself before long...
