I want to get a Benchmade 530 Mel Pardue converted to an auto? I was told that maybe I could find some help here. I know Benchmade offers some Axis autos. I'm just not sure if there is anyone that does conversions for them, maintaining the Axis design. I've looked at the auto version that Benchmade makes of this knife and I just can't warm up to it. This is one of my favorite knives. I would love to have it in an auto. Ideally I would like to have It in double action where I can open it manually or automatically. If this is not possible I am open to other ideas. The auto axis design that Benchmade uses would be my rebound choice. Followed by whatever options I have left if those won't work. What do you think? Thanks for the help.

Well, I'm not sure either. Its not me though. Actually I don't work on autos or balisongs and don't even allow them to be mailed to me for work since they are that gray area for legality and illegal in Oklahoma both to carry and/or build.

Reese Weiland makes some autos of his own. He is in Florida and he may be someone to ask about your project. I'd suggest a google search for "Reese Weiland Knives" and give him a call. Thanks for asking though.

Should I try asking around in the maintenance, tinkering and establishment sub forum.

You may get a reply or two there so its probably worth a try yes. Good luck finding someone to help you.
