Slow getting this up for today but maybe it'll last for the weekend.

top -- Beefy pound and a half BAS by Sher. Excellent rig. Sher has been doing very good work lately and a lot of it. Only thing I can find wrong with this rig is minor grainlines in handle that don't even need superglue. Probably shouldn't be in the blem box but Yangdu put it there so that's where it belongs. You know the story. Take it home for $60.

no 2 -- This is Bura's Silver Mounted Royal Dhankuta 12 inch 11 ounce) with water buffalo horn handle rather than spoted deer. It's a perfect rig but the scabbard needs some epoxy to hold at the top to hold the top mounting in place and also on the center right. Ten minutes with some decend epoxy turns this into a perfect rig. Usualy fine work by Bura. We'll deliver this little winner to your door for $125 -- Uncle Bill best buy.

no 3 -- A village kami brought this and the bottom in and it's a winner. About 11 inches and 8 ounces. This kamis does very good work and the handles big enough to hand onto and the blade is good enough to do some work. This is not the typical tourist quality. Good stuff and very well done. Both handle and scabbard in rose wood.
Yours for $50.

bottom -- 9.5 inch 6 ounce Dhankuta style by the village kami. Really excellent work on both knife and scabbard. I'd like to see this guy come to work at BirGorkha. He's a good kami. The handle and scabbard are in rose wood. Carving on scabbard. Very pretty and well done little rig. A nice wall hanger but it's capable of doing some work, too. Delivered to your door for $50.

Call or email. Buy all four for $250 delivered to your door (if you live in the US) and get ready for Christmas.

That mini-Hanuman handle is actually quite ergonomic. I use mine all the time for small household cutting chores.

Ditto for mine bought some weeks ago.
In my standard kitchen knife set now,
along with a kages katne and an ulu.

Wish I had not missed the 6 ounce Dhankuta.
I've been hoping to see one come up.
I'll stay tuned.

That little 6 ounce Dhankuta is cute as a bug, I'd love to get one for my daughter. Hopefully that village kami will drop by Bir Ghorka again sometime soon. If he does maybe he can be convinced to make a whole batch of 'em. If Uncle says the man does good work that's all I need to know.

Speaking of kamis, any idea who the new kami (K.S. and Trisul) is? Enough of his blades are out and about now that I'm sure I'm not the only one who's curious.

I've been trying to find out about the new kami but these kind of requests are usually ignored. For some reasons they seem to be more concerned about the Maoists blowing up the Lalitpur bridge than a bio on a new kami. Hear the Maoists blew up a helicopter up in the Khumbu yesterday. Locals call the handmade bombs the Maoists use "pressure cooker bombs."
