At times, it appears that some folks may be having a problem with this supplier or that supplier and feel they have to air their dirty laundry. Now that's not such a bad thing I suppose but it seems that this is done even before EVER HEARING BACK FROM THE SUPPLIER!!!

Don't take me wrong on this, if you get burned, that is a completely issue. We have all been burned at one time or the other. A number of folks will post gripes and whatnot prematurely and if and when the problems are resolved, they are too embarrassed to post the resolution.

I guess that what I am saying is to exercise a little patience and if you don't get your problem fixed its up to you what to do.

Let me give you an example of not getting a problem fixed...

About a year ago, in December of 2000 and January of 2001 there was a post on this forum where a fellow knifemaker stated that he was selling off all of his steel. A number of folks, including myself, sent him emails and stuff and agreed upon a price for steel. I, along with others, sent him a money order for the steel. None of us ever got it. No one had been able to contact him, yet. Now that is getting burned!!!

i recently had a suppier double charge my bank check card on a large order. this made three checks bounce. i have over draft but i still incurd charges. the supplier recredited my acount. when i told them of the charges they agreed to credit me for that much. people are human and goof up once in a while. these folks are making it right. and i will never name them to any body. case closed.

Craig-

I couldn't agree with you more. I guess maybe some guys just plop down at their computer at night and "unload" on a rant...but forget that they're not just putting their slight frustration into type...they're putting it into type in front of thousands of people.

Now if the tables were turned, and those same guys screwed up somehow, they would probably want a chance to fix their screw-up before somebody else aired their dirty laundry all over the web.

I can understand being frustrated...I frustrate myself more than anyone else does...

BUT: Exercising some caution and at least waiting until you've spoken to a REAL, LIVE PERSON at the place of interest would greatly negate any of these type of posts we're talking about.

Good point Craig! :)

I know of a post that must have been about that time.
and not being aware of any other I now I'm assuming who :(
which I should not do. I'm hoping he's not the one
at least fingered being the one by the unknowing
and end up the wrong one.

Just this post alone could could cast dought on the innocent
so before anyone assumes who it is I would suggest a private
message to C.L. to make sure who's who first or not at least.

I too get realy burned at guys like this, seems they are
all over the place just waiting for you.
