Due to a very unfortunate legal policy the Crazy Horse Memorial Foundation has, we will not be able to advertise nor continue to support the knife donation program. I only speak for myself here, but we were a bunch of maker's trying to do some good. Email me if you want further details.

Hey Dogman count me in on that one. Its about time the shipped in Americans did something for the only true Americans rather than to them. I would be honored to help their cause and challenge other makers to help our truly proud orignal Americans. Together we can make a difference. GenO

I am not a knife maker, but I am of Native American ancestry. I would be more than happy to donate one of my custom knives to what I feel is a worthy cause.

Thanks Neil

I am donating a knife as well. Tom Walz of Carbide Processors just made a good deal better, he told me that if we can get 3 good makers to join in on this good cause, he will furnish the Talonite to make them out of. So we need 3 more makers not already on the list to sign up. Come on boys, lets hear from you!

Just a side note...the first three makers to e-mail Rob directly, and who are not already on the list...we don't want confusion between posting here and sending an e-mail.

Thanks for hooking us up, Rob.

I'm not as good a maker as most of the names on the list, but count me in. Let me know when you need the knife by and it will be ready. I am of Indian heritage and am glad to do what I can to help.

Not sure what I promised to do but I'm in.

There's a rumor in the family that I might have a little Indian blood in me. I think it is mostly mom just wishing it were true, though.

Idea, I think that this would be an excellent project to interest a huge range of magazines and similar. I would like to see some representative photographs of the various knives with short artist bios sent to all the outdoor as well as the art and upscale lifestyle magazines. I think it would be very good for the custom industry if more people knew what was available in custom knives and how reasonable they are. They are beautiful, they photograph well, and they are a whole lot cheaper than upscale watches or even upscale fountain pens.

Ideally the articles would come out just before the auction. This means having some knives ready a couple months before the auction to hit the magazines' lead times.

The only problem I can see is that this kind of publicity will raise the price of knives for people who already collect. However this will bring more artists into the art and focus more attention on the newer, less popular artists, which will also be good.

We are set up here pretty well to do this sort of thing.

We also have a database of knifemakers and I could run postcards if you thought it was a good idea.

Let me know if we can help.

Tom
