A Change in Collecting Focus

I've recently changed the focus on my collecting. I'll still buy what I like, but have tried to concentrate on the 500 Dukes. I have several reasons for this. I really like them, there aren't as many of them around as the 110 so my ability to overload my budget is not as high. I've attached some of the ones I've been able to get my hands on. The BCCI mammoth tooth and camel bone is not the one I have. I have the one where David Yellowhorse applied some file work to the front bolster. Since I'm not at home I have a limited access to my actual photos. I'm still looking for more if any of you know where I can get some!! :thumbup: ;)

Nice blades #724 :thumbup::thumbup:

Believe it or not, I don't have a single 500, out of all this mess I do have. :eek:

No clue why.. :confused:

You have great taste in knives! Here's a few more that you may want to hunt down. the last two pictures show two that are based on the Duke.

Plumber,
Nice collection! I do have the Smokey Mountain Renezvous Heritage 500 buck don't have access to a photo since it's at home and I'm 160 miles away (until tonight). The hunt will go on as they say, but perhaps a little slower than I'd like due to limited resources. :o

I knew Plumber would put a photo of the 510 up. A handsome model. Mike, I came across the Impala horn Duke and should have purchased it. That to me is a very handsome knife. Thanks for the photos guys. DM

I can't let this opportunity go by, I have to show off this one again. Giraffe bone with schrimshaw by Leesa Martin.

I don't have a photo, but another that comes to mind is a Will Bill Cody LE with elk handles, fileworked backspring, and rear bolster removed. Also, a Brian Yellowhorse edition with red dyed armadillo scales.

Hi Mike,

I also collect what I like and do love the 500 duke. Currently I have over 30 of them, not sure what the true count of them truly is......."that's bad"! Oh well, here are a few shots of some of them. I hope you see some you may need to find for yourself Mike. I say that with a very big smile on my face. Because, I was on a year plus search after Mike posted that photo of the Impala jigged bone Duke, I just love that knife "it's a clasic".

Wow John! That's some collection you have there. I'm envious. I'll have to get my camera out some day and take a photo of all my 500's together.

Thanks for the complements guys. The Dukes just speak for themselves, I have no idea why they were discontinued.

Armand, yes it's a Griz black etch by Taylor, FG stag, issued in 1985, 250 made (the Griz looks more like a hedge hog to me...lol). Sorry I never took a better photo of this one.
