Hello All, here's my Friday Buck Knife... It's a 412* Scoutlite.... I've never seen one like this before... It has an arrow on one side and "NAT'L ORDER OF THE ARROW CONF. KINDLE THE FLAME FROM WITHIN 86" on the other side...
It's going in my Bucklite Collection...

Thanks for looking... ITE

FYI, The Order of the Arrrow, is Scoutings 'National Honor" Society. Open to Scouts and Adults it is a internal group that Scouts and Adult leaders who show themselves to be examples of the Scout oath are selected. Symbolism of the 'elite' organization use Native American symbols. The Arrow on the blade is one of those. It is sewn on a white sash members wear. Beginning with a plain red arrow, then arrow with bars and finally a arrow with bars and triangle in middle. That final level is attained only by one in 50 members.

Knife must have been order for a national level conference.

WWW stands for three ceremonial ( Native American) words that all begin in W. Not sure what CMU is . Maybe a college where conference was held ? ....300

Thanks JB, I've always liked the red handles on the scoutlite too... I'm going to have to use one next time I go out hunting or camping... I like the etching too... I wish it had a gold arrow on the blade... :) ... ITE
