Dan, et al:
You might like this one. It's called the C.B.K.C. for the Cheasepeake Bay Knife Club.

Spec's.

OAL ------9 1/4 inches.
Blade ----5 5/8 inches.
Belly ----1 3/16 inches.
Thick --- < 3/16 inches.
Drop ---- 1 7/8 inches.

Edit:
Forgot the handle length... 3 9/16 inches, pretty damned short!!!!:(

Brass topped karda and chakma.

So whatcha think? :)

Rumor has it a few were turned out with the little Nepali deer horn. Then again, maybe my memory took more than I thought when it went away.

Rusty,
Nothing wrong with your memory.

Berk/Yvsa =   Wow!! Now those are nice.
Berk = What are the sizes of each?

Yvsa = thanks for the pic post. I had heard before about the CBKC knife - but despite living only 30 minutes from the Bay, I have not been able to get more information about it (or the club, for that matter).

What was the final price on it? They're no longer being made, right? (just a one-time deal)

btw, how do you pronouce your name? Just curious because my father-in-law is part Cherokee, and we were looking through Cherokee names for the new baby.

The CBKC khukuri was 9 inches as I recall and price was $65, I think. I believe they ordered 32 pieces but can't remember anything for sure. Ray Beers is a member. I think our pal who owns 800 khukuris is the current president of the CBKC.

Dan I will answer to Yuh-suh, about as close as most non-ndns can get since most people don't use nasal sounds except when blowing their snoot er sumthin.;)
Yuh(n)suh is closer. Yvsa is Cherokee slang for Buffalo. Ya-na-sa is the correct phonetic way of speilling buffalo in English. The Cherokee Syllabary spells Yvsa with only 3 symbols.:)

The CBKC is a nice little khuk, but it's just so damned, well, little.:)
But I think about the size that Yangdu used to carry on the night bus as a deterrent against would be amorous night sneaks as well.

Bill,
Nice knife. Khukuries are interesting - few knives come in this many sizes. Perhaps John should follow Paul Kiesling's (Bayonets of the World) lead and organize his upcoming book by OAL. The knives below are virtually identical except for the scale.

Thanks for the great knife pics. I've bookmarked this thread.

Personally, I wouldn't go below 12" on a khukuri. Yvsa is right that they are just too small, and nearly an insult to the real thing.

However, if I had a 12" khuk (see design-thoughts thread) I would use it often. It would definitely not be a collector/novelty piece.

If I ever get one, I'll post pics and an explanation.

I posted a scan of the wood model.
One step closer...
