A few comparison pictures

Just wanted to share a few pictures of my little collection I have going on here. Maybe show a little size comparison also. For some reason when I was looking at pictures of these knives (Knockout and Skyline in particular) I thought that they were bigger than they actually are. Not complaining at all just they way I was perceiving things.

I just got the Knockout today and it is awesome. It is really light and the aluminum scales are very comfortable. The blade is wickedly sharp right out of the box. It is going to make an excellent slicer. The speed safe is very fast. Very fast. I have had a few other assisted knifes from other manufactures that I was less than impressed with. So I didn't really know what to expect here. The speed safe is awesome though. It opens fast and with authority. The handle profile is very thin and disappears in my pocket thanks to the deep carry clip.

I got the S30v Blur Saturday. It is a thing of beauty. The ergonomics of the handle and blade are spot on. It is very comfortable in the hand. The trac-tek adds a lot of traction but doesn't seem to grab on my pants pocket. I love the re-curve on the blade. The speed safe is everything you would think it would and should be. Very sharp out of the box. I am probably telling you all everything you all ready know about this knife.

I have been very impressed with Kershaw/ZT products. The more I look at them the more I find I like. It is a big bonus to me how active they are here on the forums and to read about how good they treat their customers.

Anyway just a few comparison pictures with some of my other knives that you all should be familiar with. Thanks for reading my ramblings. :D

Nice Collection! The Knockout is smaller than I would have thought but it still looks to be about the same size as a Blur.
Also, may I ask if that is a S30V Blur, and, if it is, what do you think of it compared to a regular 14C28N Blur?

Thanks

Yes the Knockout and Blur are very similar in overall size. Just different ergonomics.

Yes it is the S30v Blur. I don't have another blur in 14C28N to compare it to. I haven't used that steel much yet. What I have read though (someone please correct me if I am wrong) is that S30v is suppose to have better edge retention than 14C28N. 14C28N is suppose to be easier to sharpen also. I know that there have been many threads discussing this topic. Lots of opinions. From what I have gathered though that is the main difference.

By the way I am willing to post more comparison pictures if any body wants......

What kind of scales did you put on the zt 0550? It looks pretty freaking epic!

Thanks. It is the Hinderer scale in OD green. It looks pretty good on the knife. I got it a few months ago when the replacement scales for those 551's were hard to find. I was looking for an orange one but found the OD green instead.

very cool thanks for the pics! I'm waiting till next month to pull my trigger on the knockout. Had to buy a backup hd this month, and since last year I ALWAYS set aside 500$ for whenever the 777 comes out. I agree Kai is very impressive in both sales/products and customer service. In my book they are what rivals spyderco. I see them as the flipper kings, and spyderco as the manual kings. In general umbrella terms anyway [when I try to explain brands to a non-knife person, thats where I start anyway]. Good choice on the 55x scales, I definitely prefer that pattern over the stock quite a bit [especially since it feels like the perfect subdued DGG offered by strider which is just way too harsh for me]

I like the aftermarket scales more than the stock ones. I have always liked Spyderco but find myself leaning towards Kershaw/ZT lately. Can't wait for the ZT 777. It will be awesome.
