A few Q's about the Endura 4

Hello and Happy New Year Spydie people!

I was seriously considering a Manix some months ago but when I got wind of the new 4th gen. Enduras, I just about wet myself with so much excitment! The improvements I envisioned on mine (Gen. 2 model) were just about the same ones that got put on the new one.

I've got a few nagging questions though:

1. Are they formally out yet? If not, when? The net sites I seem to see say they are still in pre-order?

2. MSRP?

3. The catalog said they had "3D" or contoured handle like in the D'Allara models I suppose. But someone said they were flat?

Thanks in advance for taking time out for a newb's inquiries!:D

Think they have started to trickle out to the dealers. One eBay seller had them and Delica 4s on BINs last week, and several people who purchased the Delicas have received them already, and have posted pictures on the Spyderco Factory Forum. Not sure of MSRP but based on those auctions I would say street prices seem comparable with what the previous version was selling for. Think the 3D being refered to is 3D like the Calypso Jr fishscales and C41 Native spiderweb, rather than contoured like the D'Allara and C78 Native III.

Hello Untamed, The new endura is starting to trickle in. I live about six miles from Sawyers Cutlery, aka razorsharpknife on Ebay. Picked mine up just the other day. Nice ergos compared the gen 2 & 3 I have. I paid $39.99 for mine The Delica is $37.99. I do not have the D'Allara to compare it to. Here are a couple of quick pictures.

My thanks to a "man of the cloth", Deacon :) !

Superb! Thanks for the response and truly awesome pics!

Man that new Endura is a GREAT improvement! :) Now Spyderco has a good sized - good looking, economy priced knife.

Very nice

I got my Endura 4 from Sawyer's Cutlery in the mail today. This knife is much nicer than the older model, imo. It's a bargain for $40. Mine is a PE. They also had a combo edge. I will also get a spyder edge when it comes out. I was too impatient to wait. Glad I didn't wait. BTW Sawyer's name on ebay is no longer razorsharpknife. It's" knifestore" The invoice and packing slip still show up as Sawyer's Cutlery. Can't go wrong on this one. Get it!:D

Oups! Wrong info. I see that Sawyer's is still doing business under " razorsharpknife" on ebay, as well as "knifestore"

It should be interesting to see what the pricing ends up at up here:) It is good news, though, to see that the pricing didn't change radically. I have one of the Delica 4's on order (preferred to try the ZDP one, but I'm not going to hold my breath) - I hadn't planned on an Endura 4, but you know, for what I do....it's a good alternate to the millie - then I afford to get a Cento IV as well:D

Just a thought - gord
