My wonderful father showed up with a surprise yesterday
A 2003 2 bladed Hunter 6265 A bigun!
Came with a really nice leather belt sheath (half half bin at the hardware store too!)
The handles are midnight bone and has the Tested XX inlayed in the scale.
Really cool! excellent FF, Sharp, the walk and talk is a little soft but other than that its fantastic!
Anybody else have this midnight bone? (thats what i deciphered from the box)
Kind of a gnarly brown look to it, growing on me and against my better judgement i'm carrying the darn thing today, holding my pants up everytime i move:)
Now i gotta pick him up something, got him a yeller peanut thinking maybe a barlow, dunno yet.
Wish i could post picts but still camera-less.

That is a nice surprise. They are a biggun..

I keep looking for an early redbone version in mint condition, that the owner doesn't know what its worth :D Like thats ever going to happen:(
 
my first real pocket knife some 25 years ago was a 70's Camillus #26 2 bladed hunter that my father gave me, was my grandads. This case seems downright slim compared to that beast, still have it too:thumbup:

p.s. i carried that big camillus all through highschool, course i didnt advertise it. Just had too regardless of the size. I'm just a sentimental sort:)
 
It's beautiful, but that bone's pretty light to be called midnight. Must be from up there in "way north" country, where the sun don't go down 'til "way late".

ya know i'm only going by what the box had on it? i really dont know if thats the proper name or not:) not finding many on google search some patterns but not this one and the scale color is different.

I had a Case with that same midnight bone, and roughly the same color. Kinda mis-named, but quite nice looking. Wonder if it would look even nicer with a different name??:D

so i'm not losing my mind:D didnt look like midnight to me either
i think i actually like it a little more than my amberbone case, a little different but purty just the same!
I really like the tested XX, too had to be a pain to do though.
This big thing definitely needs the sheath for carry, as you all know its a little big for pocket carry, and i'm sure would freak the squares out if they saw it:)

That's a nice knife man. Get a couple of those in you, it goodbye belts and hello suspenders. :D Maybe your dad could use a swayback jack or my fav small texas jack.:)

I have that same knife, with the same lettering, but mine is black. :confused:


However, I do have a Dale Earnhardt 3 shield trapper in "midnight bone" and it's a creamy brown color. :confused:

Did they make more than one version of the "TESTED XX" shield folding hunter?

i was thinking the jack or maybe a barlow, he loves the yeller cv peanut i got him for christmas, i think he's sneaky though cause now were into give a knife get a knife kinda thing:)
sometime i'll get pictures of the camillus and the case together the differences are dramatic, the camillus is wider and just feels a bit bigger.

the only hunter i was able to find online was as you describe yours, dunno
i mean mine is really far from being what most everybody would call midnight.:confused:
either way it's a keeper
