*A great invention: superknives

Ugly as a box of pigs ears.
Try a Stanley knife instead.
Just my humble opinion

I ordered one a couple days ago. Should be here soon.
I'll post my review then.

Here, here. I second the motion.

Yikes!

Dan GSR,

Please give us a review once your order comes in. I'm curious to see your take on these.

I imagine that for everyday tasks, this would be great. The fact that it's a folder makes it more convenient, and safe. I'm thinking mostly of construction guys who would use it to cut cord, rope, insulation, etc. It would be nice to have in a pocket without having to worry about opening and closing it.

It looks more functional than a "Stanley", but way more ugly.

I'm going to direct this to the "ugly knife contest".:D:D

They are butt ugly, but I may pick one up as I work in construction and need one of those utlity knives whenever I don't have one. Inside tip - for dressing game, the hooked blades on utility knives are a great gut hook.

IMNSHO, all KnifesKnuts NEED to buy one. Carry it right next to your EDC. That way, when the non-KnifeKnuts want to borrow your good one, give 'em that. They might think you crazy, but they probably won't pester you again for your real EDC! :D

If I was into Construction of some sort ... I would pick one of these up in a heartbeat. Ugly or not. Very practical.

I can't sharpen worth a damn, would prevent me having to pay $4 to have my EDC POS resharpened everytime. Just pop out the blade and BAM, I have a sharp edge again. Nice! Let us know how it is in person.

Thanks,

Ryan

Why?

I got the knife today.
Couple things I don't like:

1. The liner lock seems a little thin.
2. The clip was too soft.
3. The screw for the pivot is very loose, when I have it adjusted to the tension that I like.
4. Very few threads on the screw that holds the blade in, maybe 2 or 3 threads. Concerned about durability.

Things I do like:

1. Very smooth action.
2. Adjustable pivot tension.
3. Easily flickable, both icepick and forward grip.
4. No blade play when locked open.
5. Comes with contractor grade utility blade, Its nice and thick.

Things I would change to make this product better:
1. Don't use a propriety tool to adjust the pivot screw. Give me an allen or torx screw.
2. Make the blade easier to swap out. If I don't need any tools that would be great. This would solve two problems, because I wouldn't have to worry about stripping the screw that holds the blade in.
3. Make the pocket clip stiffer ( I already did mine, not a big problem. I just unscrewed the allen screws and bent the clip.)

It has dual thumb studs so its good for both lefty and right handed people.

I put a little loctite on the pivot screw so that I won't wiggle around so much.

For $25 this is a good deal. The fit and finish is nice.
I have small/medium sized hands. I could see people with large hands having problems with this knife.

I would reccomend this knife to others.
This is my initial review. I'll post another review after a month or so of use.

For its' price, it doesn't look too bad as a folding razor-blade holder, and they even come in different colors to match the "uniform of the day".:).

Sounds like I will wait for version 2.0 on these babies.

Still a must for me on my Surveillance Camera installs.

I end up leaving my Spyderco Ltw. Calypso out in the open a lot ... a lot of eyes on it from the other workers on site. Would hate to lose a spydie to sticky hands.

Edited: I let the people at Superknives.com take a look at this post. It's a Purrrrty Knife! :D

Good review! Hope to see a few others use it onsite and see how it holds up.

It might be a good loaner for those that ask the most infamous question.
"Could I borrow your knife?"
