Why can't I find more knives in the style I prefer?

I know exactly what I like, yet I'm still having a hard time finding models that fit what I’m looking for. Nothing out of the ordinary, I would think, but still, I thought some of you folks might have a better handle on this, so to speak.

Above is a picture of my top preference, style-wise. I like a roughly 3 inch blade, and smooth 4 inch Ti scales. Frame lock preferred, and I like sand-blasted titanium, but am open to other options. I have this lovely A.T. Barr (above) and a small Sebenza (which is lovely). Can anyone tell me of other makers that have similar offerings? I’m already in the running for a Spyderco Sage 2, BTW. What else you got?

Many thanks, ahead of time.

Definitely grab a Sage 2, then check out the
Spyderco Mantra2 (I prefer it over the Mantra, but not everybody does).

(Probably shouldn't have used a Cerakoted, etched, and stonewashed example; but that's what I have access to)

"Sandblasted titanium framelock" is like every knife made now. You can't swing a dead cat without hitting one. We have a couple current threads about how the market is over saturated with them.

If you could be more specific, maybe we could help more. Are you looking for "small"? "minimal design elements"? "not a flipper"?

Help.

Not sure of you price range but something from Ray Laconico would be just up your alley maybe? Not cheap but he does some beautiful clean titanium stuff.

Maybe a full Ti front flipper? I know people here hate Gareth Bull, but the shamwari is pretty awesome. You could also do a full Ti from Trevor Burger.

AG Russell I believe it's called Gentlemans Frame Lock that is a 3"blade Ti scales I think VG-10 blade.

Or if you can find one of the AG Russell Acies somewhere still.

Is that a Spyderco? If not did they license the Spyderco hole? Looks nice.

Well, I'm not really sure where to swing this particular dead cat. I've never owned a flipper, but am not opposed. After seeing some comments here, I've looked at some Kizers (trying desperately to get past my perhaps outdated preconceptions of China-made) and a range of Spydercos, and have seen some winners. Minimal design is right, so plain, smooth scales are definately my preference. Total length generally not exceeding 8 inches, give or take. See, when I google such things and go down the rabbit hole of knife sites, I tend to see the same things over and over, and would like a little more variety. I'm open to production models, though I admit the more custom makers are catching my eye more often. This thread is dropping names I haven't heard of, which is exactly what I wanted. I can search the internet as well as the next man, but so many folks here are aware of names that won't pop up on most searches. I really do appreciate the advice.

Haha. First, if I win the lottery, I will definately pick up a Laconico. That Yorkie is lovely. Second, if I win the lottery, I'll get you one, too.

You know, I've never handled a front flipper, and it looks like reviews are mixed. I think I'll go to my local shop and see how they feel. Also, Good Lawd Almighty, the Burgers look fantastic.

Hey, that gentleman's folder is very reasonably priced and looks really nice. That could easily be in the running at some point.

It's a custom job from A.T. Barr. Done many years ago. On his website, he made a point of saying he paid the licensing fee to Spyderco. I gotta say, it's a really lovely piece.

I have owned a Brad Southard AVO, which I then had customized by Josh at REK... I carried that knife for two years, and I loved it. Like many other great knives, like the Slysz Bowie, I let it go...
p.s. there is a slightly-used one on the Exchange, and you can always dicker with anyone... :) (I have no dog in this fight.)
