Hi,

Hoping someone can tell me a little something about this boker folder. All three blades say Boker on the tang. The main blade has a tree on the back. No other numbers or letters. The handle is ??? Whatever you can tell me would be appreciated.

It looks like a Boker model 7588. Bone handles. I can't speak to age as I don't recognize the tang stamp. The tree is Boker's Tree Brand symbol, but that doesn't show in your photo. I don't recognize the shield either. I have limited experience with Boker.

Thanks, Dean. I should have mentioned that. The shield looks like it's been epoxied on.

I have one almost exactly like it. It has the round tree shield - not that one. One of the blades is broken.

Was my grandfather's knife. The case 06247 that was also his was 1940-1964 - not sure of the age on his Boker, but it looks at least as old as the case.

Thanks, Zip7. Like I said, the shield looks like it was epoxied on and that maybe the inletted area underneath that is filled with epoxy was round.

I got mine out and looked at it with a 10X loupe - I can barely make out the BOKER tang stamp on the main blade, but it appears to be somewhat larger letters than yours. The other two blades I can't find anything. The tangs on this knife are very worn.

Also, mine has grooved bolsters & matchstrike nick on the main clip.

Jigging looks same as yours, and slight serpentine shape - but mine is 4" flat closed.

Does yours say "Boker" or "Boker USA". Mine just says "Boker" - the main blade is pretty faint. Have to get it at the right angle to read it.

I took some sandpaper to it, and can't make it say anything but _ _ K E R

I'm assuming that was once BOKER because of the pretty tree that's on the shield.

there is enough room underneath that for it to say USA in smaller letters, but if it's there I sure can't find any sign of it.

The main clip is over half sharpened away on mine - granddaddy was hard on knives. Whittled a lot.

That means it has a history - I think it's better to have one of those than one that was never sharpened!
