Hi all,
I was reflecting earlier today on my collection of EDC and 'go-to' knives - the blades that I always reach for first when I'm about to hit the trails - and it dawned on me that my most consistent item of gear (aside from my EDC scandi) is my JK Hudson Bay fire kit. I've had this knife for a few seasons, and it has started plenty of fires, opened dozens of packages, and even prepped a few meals. It has been my experience that I can haul this blade out in the middle of a departmental meeting without attracting any concerned looks from colleagues, and I have to keep an eye on it around my girlfriend, who keeps mentioning how much she likes it.
This knife has walnut handles and a design based on the larger Hudson Bay knife that John offers. The leather sheath fits easily in a back pocket or shirt pocket, and has great retention, and the blade itself takes and holds a nice edge.
In short, I really, really like this knife. Just thought I would mention that.
Carry on.
All the best,
- Mike
