The original Scorpion of Darrel's caught my eye a few years ago. I'd always wanted a similar knife, and finally Darrel and I went back and forth and hammered out the design that suited us from both sides. I affectionately call it the "Big-Ass Scorpion". Mosaic Damascus and a spring were a little out of my league but we hashed it out and I ended up with one sweet knife. I always liked titanium, especially when DR anodizes it, a couple of big slabs of primo MOP, and the blade is CPM420V (what else?). Its a big knife, the blade measures 4.75 inches from the choil to the tip (not including tang). I t would be an understatement to say this knife is smooth. Absolutely the smoothest leaf-lock I've ever fiddled with, much less owned. Several colorful metaphors come to mind....banana peel on linoleum, snot on a doorknob, you get the picture. I got those from the forums

The tip of the blade is DEAD center in the handle when closed, and believe me this is no small feat with a blade at 5" long. The epitome of precision. I wish I had a scan of the engraving on the spine, if you are a DR fan you may know his Celtic Rope pattern. Its mesmerizing. Another neat touch is instead of grooves on the leaf for grab, it is a miniscule version of the Celtic Rope. No detail was spared. Even the leaf is anodized in a gradual spectrum matching the handles, only it goes through the same colors in a much quicker pace obviously. Each and every screw is heat colored and meticulously fileworked. Man I don't know what else to say about it. I am incredible impressed. Then again every DR knife I own has done me like that

I'm very happy the scan captured the colors of the Ti the way they really look. That soft lime green at the butt kills me! Anyway, DR put this pic up on his page, PLEASE go take a look. I'm really proud of this baby. Great Job Darrel! thanks, jeff http://www.infinet.com/~browzer/scorpt2.jpg

That is an awsome knife. Enjoy Jeff.
