I want an old style lockback knife. A usable knife for under $500.00. It must have an all stainless frame and spring, some kind of natural scale material, and about a 3" blade. A blade of BG-42 or 52100 would be nice.

Who makes a knife like this?

So you'll know what I like, here is some of my collection:

Thanks,

Funny, I was looking for one along the same lines as that last week and found it at Bailey Bradshaws site. Good hunting

PJ Tomes makes knives like that in that price range. Steel choices would be Sandvik 12C27, 52100, or 420V with prices going up about $100 at each step. You can see some at www.knifeart.com and www.arizonacustomknives.com

Bailey Bradshaw (PJ's former apprentice) also makes great traditional lockbacks in that price range.

Jeff,

Bailey's work would fit in real well with your current collection. I carry a lockback out of 3V and Stag he made as my EDC. Well made with a thin flat ground blade and stag scales. He is also doing some new lockbacks with a green river skinner feel to them...really cool and unusual. His site is at www.bradshawcutlery.com

Best of luck, and your collection is really good lookin!

A small whitewing lockback sounds real close to what you are looking for. I think there is still a picture of one on my site. Blade length on them is 2 3/4 inches.

Thanks to all who replied. I'll let you know with a picture when I make a decision.
