Hi all,
I just received my new John Deere yellow moose in the mail.
There were on a great sale at Shepherd Hills, so I went for it.

I have pics of it with my large stockman. The moose is a little thinner than the stockman. I suppose it is due to requiring less robust springs as there are only two blade rather than three?

The blades open smoothly. As usual on the larger knives, the springs are a little softer.

The yellow is a little deeper and I do like the John Deere stamp.

I was going to mention that the ends of the springs are a little rough, but when i look at the stockman, I notice it is tough and sticks up as well. I had not noticed before.

In any event, enjoy the pictures.

Doh, I see the brass liner in the stockman now. That is why it is thicker...

I like it Ed... I have looked at the pics of them many times, and thought about getting one because I like JD'S... I don't typically like the scales to have anything on them, but the JD insignia and tire tracks are kinda cool.

Your picture shows the bone better. I don't know why but I always expected them to look more like Delrin

After seeing yours, I may have to add one to the list. Even though I haven't owned one, I have been drawn to the Moose pattern. I'm surprised they don't get more talk then they do.

many users have found the smaller blade on the stock pattern doe'st get used as much as in the past.although the trapper pattern has always been a tough user , the large slightly stouter blades of the moose fit the bill better for an edc hard use. the daily cutting of boxes, hoses, medium use on wood pieces is perfect for the moose. this is'nt a knife for a banker or attorney while in their offices but certainly is great for ups, retailers of hardgoods, feed store people & ranchers. certainly mechanics & even busy pharmasists welcome this tool.

Nice Yellow bone. the more I see yellow bone the more I like it. nice knife.

I agree. After seeing pics of yellow bone Moore Makers, I really like it.
I guess I hadn't looked close enough to notice that the Case JD knives were the same or very similar
