Back in Dec, my son designed a knife and finished it up, and promptly sold it!!
(it taken me till now to get the pic online at my site) He was 7 at the time.
His design, some of my scrap 5160
a little tanto with hidden tang. He called the shots as to what he wanted. All I really did was guide his hands on the grinder so he did not hurt himself.
Many thanks to Brian Lyttle for the heat treating.
You can see the his pic at

You've got good reason to be proud. Perhaps another Crawford-like partnership???

King of all that rhymes with Orange!

He loved doing it!
He had started others, but my "advice" on what to do and how to do it was rather boring so he lost interest before completing them. This time I bit my tongue and let him call the shots.
He loves drawing up various designs, he even practices making folders from my scrap leather.
I had better watch my step beore he kicks me out of my own shop!
