After a few weeks of searching through previous posts and gazing longingly at the photos posted here and on the website, I have come to the conclusion that I must have a hawk. The Next Generation Ranger makes the most sense for my use. For a few reasons, I would much rather have a hawk without the spike. The Minuteman model would seem to be the most logical choice but I would rather have the better steel and synthetic handle option of the NG Ranger.
Could a "custom order" be had? I thought maybe instead of forming the spike, a few inches of steel left in place could form a hammer of sorts. This wouldn't be pressed into service as a nail pounder, just a handy tool.
I'm still saving my pennies but thought this might be something to think about as the piggy bank slowly fills.
