The quick review of the Wegner Junior by Fred Perrin
I was quietly drinking some coffee in Nemo's place when he asked to work on the loose pivot.
I take my swisstool adaptater and disassembly the Wegner. I have trimmed the bushing screw
Ooooh surprise ! Little silicon rings flying everywhere!!!
(Two !!!)
I put all thing back (with the little rings) and the pivot was still loose !
I decided calmly but firmly to destroy that f*****ing little rings !
You know what? No more loose pivot. So I begin to really enjoy the little knife.
(Almost steal it to Nemo !)
The shape is confortable and the grip is made for your hand. I like its banana look !
For Ice Pick grip it's a Rolls Royce and the clip reinforce the grip.
(BTW the Ice Pick Grip is for very very rare and special occasions like to destroy the cork of a wine bottle ;-) James Keating got a video about that occasions ;-) )
The blade is design for skinning and hunting chores but it can be easily used for many other jobs.
It's really thick until the tip so it's really solid for abuse.
Good points
The Steel Spacer ! (Georgous and confortable grip !)
Really easy opening, easy closing.
Lanyard Hole !!!
The sharp angle look like it was made especially for skinning, so we have worked on it.
We use a diamond stone to change it to lower its degree angles.
The ATS-34 is hard but still workable. Good edge holding !
The size of the Wegner Junior makes it easy to forget and the clip is on the right place.
It's a hunting knife but I feel also as a fighting folder. It's look like the Rekat Hobbit Folder . I got the same feeling when I manipulate it.
You see a good utility knife can be also an excellent "tactical" weapon.
Rare are the "tactical" gizmos good as a hunting tool like the Wegner !
Conclusion.
Small, Strong, Addictable !
Period.
Fred and Nemo
P.S.
lease Sal stop to do all these great knives because we allways feel obliged to shift from one to another
