To start a post like this with some arbitrary comment like “hey y’all” or “hello everyone” would be a detriment to the point I am trying to make. My entire family has been taught to respect our elders and treat others as they would want to be treated. Customer service, in my opinion, has hit an all time low in our country. It is few and far between that you find anyone that still knows how to provide quality customer service. As a sad fact I’m really happy to see someone who just provides the bare minimum. Point being; when someone goes above and beyond what they have to do, it makes an impression on me. I recently received a package at my door that I was not expecting. It contained a few relatively inexpensive items that I now look at as priceless. There was really no reason for him to send these to me as I didn’t win anything. I merely got an honorable mention. Well here is my honorable mention back Mr. Ethan Becker:
You provide your customers with an outstanding product at an unheard of price. You provide us with contests, freebies, gatherings, and are an active participant here in the forum. The level of customer service you provide is top tier and should serve as an example for others. Thank you for all that you do for the Becker Knives community. You sir have my respect, admiration, and business for life.
Greg
Side note: I’m not a Beckerhead yet but when I am I will be sure to wear the new gear.

Sounds like one soul at a time Ethan....your going to take over the world. (insert Dr Evil laugh here)
Good for you...and I feel the same way about customer service...basically, its all about what you can do for your self now.

He does that, throwing goodies in the box thing. It's cool to get extra stuff you weren't expecting.

Well said and why is this thread not 10 pages long.

Thankyou Mr. Ethan Becker.

Amen. Mr. Becker, you provide us with the absolute best blades for the money known to man, the type that you use and wonder why you ever considered buying anything else. The customer service is second to none, and you are a top notch man to boot. Thanks.
I can't become a Beckerhead (stupid infraction) but believe me that doesn't mean I don't want to.

Well said.....
I hope that I am not hijacking the thread but I have a comment on customer service. It seems to me that the people in the knife, gun, and leather community are some of the finest human beings on the planet. I have almost never had a problem with customer service among orders that I make. For instance, I deal a lot with Tandy Leather in Fargo North Dakota. I place an order with them. I get an e-mail within 30 min saying that the order has been boxed and shipped! And, if I ordered before noon, I often have it sitting in front of my door the next day. Same with knife and gun parts. Just good people doing what you expect them to do. Kudos to Ethan! He actually lives in this forum. And he is always doing some random act of kindness for his members. Thats all. Just wanted to say my piece.
Cheers

Tankerwolf, good shout out. A lot of people in my everyday world would just take it and go, thankfully that's not the case on Bladeforums. Ethan is very deserving of all the thanks and the recognition he's finally getting out there.

I definitely have to second this. Becker has been the company with the best customer service I have ever dealt with. They will help you out with anything and set a high standard for other knife companies. Thank you Ethan.

Hey Tankerwolf.....

Thanks for the kind words.......I get a lot out of this community too.......I really enjoy the people that iNhabit this little Barrel(box, trunk) of electrons that twice a year plus Blade Show and SHOT becomes living breathing PEOPLE......You guys alternately amuse, inform and make me very proud that you all hang here with me as a kind of electronic excuse to do so.....I really enjoy being able to host so many blade lovers having a rollicking good time teaching each other about knives.....I wanted to say cutlery, but that always denotes the biz side of the brain......I really enjoy watching you all tinkering and modding and USING my stuff.........It has been quite a journey from mangling a set of mom's reject Gerber steak knives and cheap Old Hickory blades, at age 16, Dremel in one hand and InstaBlue in the other to seeing you guys having a ton of fun doing the same to MY blades......I even (finally)get to make some money from the journey......I am one lucky old codger to have you guys so interested (and interesting) in my creations.....

The thanks is really from me to you.....Tankerwolf and Bladite, the Moose and The Tradewaters, Clich and Guyon, and on and on and on......Thanks to ALL of you........

ALL BEST....

ETHAN

I ran into Ethan at a shop in Knoxville and we talked for quite a while. He is such an interesting and extremely helpful. I started looking at the quality and value of the BK 2 and then I had to have one. When I saw him again, I told him that I was impressed with what I had bought and was looking at more. He then invited me to come to the gathering last fall where he opened up his house and shop (it was incredible the research that he has done there). He is definately one person that I have been honored to have met. Not to mention all those that I met at the gathering. These are the people that make this forum what it is.

Right before I left for the weekend, I got a box from Uncle E as well. I too was just an "honorable mention". He is a genuinely great guy, and more generous than he should be. I cant express how grateful I am for his presence here.

Plain and simple...Ethan is the man!

Hear hear! Uncle E sure treats us well, and I have to say, the whole Ka-bar crew I think really exemplifies what customer service can and should be. Although there are a lot of great folks in the blade community. Just had a fantastic experience with Alabama Damascus, for instance, and I'm for sure going to be a repeat customer there. I think Uncle E's leadership and Ka-bar's example really have set the tone for why we have such a fine group here as well. Not a week goes by without another generous giveaway or a thread about folks chipping in to help out a fellow member in need.

Rather than starting a new thread, this will fit in right here.

I won a BK-11 in a past contest, and the package arrived this week. Only it wasn't a BK-11.

It was a BK-16.

Another example of Ethan going above and beyond. I am yet again amazed at his generosity.

Since I already had a 17, I decided that the BK-16 would make the perfect graduation gift for my cousin. He was well pleased with it.

Thanks Ethan.
