Here's a piece that Danbo has had on the books for a while - and will now be drooling upon in typical Danbo fashion.

Specs are as follows:

Blade is 8.5" of 1/4" stock CPM 3V, stainless single guard, bolts and
thonghole liner. Full tapered tang, with black liners and natural
canvas micarta slabs. Unsharpened swedge. Handrubbed to 800 grit.

Sweet knife bro!

Roger

I see this knife hitch-hiking to the nearest job site looking for work. But even with micarta it might be too classy for blue collar work. Brown canvass is a nice break from black or green, and contrast well with black liners. And that blade . . . oh my . . . top rung. In a sea of makers trying to create knives this fine, Mr. Andrews always seems to nuance a distinctive specimen that rises above the pack. I'm still trying to figure out how he does it. His work is really growing on me.

Thanks, Roger, for this treat to spice my morning coffee.

Wow, Russ Andrew's construction, 1/4-inch stock. Should be a handful for you Danbo! Very nice. Congratulations on another great one from Russ.

This was my impression, the first time I saw Russ's show table, many years ago. I was no newbie to knife collecting then, but Russ's work had my jaw on the floor. When I asked him how he did such super clean work, while few others could, his response was this. "Well, most makers get in a hurry. You have to really take your time."

Sounds simple, doesn't it? It is, I suppose. But, you still have to be an extremely skilled artist, which is just what Russ Andrews is.

Thanks for the comments.....It's a pretty stout knife, and 3V
is a great knife steel......hand finishing does get to be a bit like
work though(LOL)....

Very clean looking knife Russ. Almost too pretty to use.
800 grit finish on 3v! You must have the patience of a stone! The good thing about something that hard to sand, is that it takes a whole lot more abuse to scratch the finish.

Great score Danbo!

That thing is sweet.....I just wonder how many water fountains Danbo passed by to get to that puppy.....:D
