This is a sheath made specifically for Andy's 12 inch machete, by Heber - better known as Wilmanh here on the forum. I knew it would be good stuff if Andy would bring Heber in to play on his forum....but I am blown away. This sheath is presentation grade pants for machetes. Which is what this one will be, in fact, when Andy gets down his list to my 12 inchers. One of them is for my sister, and I ordered this sheath to go with her machete. I asked Heber to make it with the square end and double stitching, just to dress it up a bit since it was going to be a gift. Those upgrades were just a tiny upcharge. The stitching is beautifully straight, even and clean. The edges are rounded and blended perfectly, the leading edge of the sheath "crimped" smoothly and evenly. The attachment straps and belt hanger on the back are absolutely straight with the body of the sheath and the double stitching. I like the extra length of the keeper, as it makes for very easy manipulation of the snap. The thickness of the leather is perfect for it's application. I wish I had a 12 inch machete to model with the sheath, but the one I bought I had promised to pass along to Moose as soon as I played with it a bit - so I'm waiting for my next three 12 inchers to get to the top of Andy's work sheet. While I wait, I have Heber's lovely product to contemplate with great satisfaction, and occasionally fondle and even inhale the fragrance! :) It smells good! :)

In short, if you have been on the fence about getting a sheath from Heber, don't think twice. At the price, these sheaths are perhaps the best value I have ever seen in ANY product. I have 3 more ordered from Heber, and I'm sending him my Fiddleback Palmer for which he is going to make a Horizontal sheath. Strangely enough, it will be square ended and double stitched! :D

Thats sweet chainring. I got one of Heber's sheaths for my 16" machete and it's real nice. I need to contact him and see if he will make me some sheaths for my small Fiddlebacks with a pocket clip.

Chainring, Thanks for the compliments. It was great working with you on that sheath and I look forward to doing the others for you. Those are some really nice pictures you took!! The lighting is cool, has an artsy vibe going on with out being bothersome and you did a good job of catching the details. I see one or two mistakes on your sheath that I know how to prevent for the next 2. ;)

What do you think of the Oak colored welt against the brown sides?

Veggy tanned leather naturally smells nice, but the sheaths do have help. I apply Montana Pitch blend to help protect and water proof the leather. Montana Pitch blend is a combination of Bees wax, pine pitch and some other stuff and it smells really good. Thanks again for the kind words.

grybsh7, I'll PM you in just a minute. ;)

Was at Chainring's last weekend, and can attest to it's quality and general awesomeness! Good work Wildmanh!

WOW! That really is a nice looking rig! Kinda makes me wish I had ordered mine that way when I got on the list!

After seeing all these sheaths, I can't wait for mine to come in!!
