A coworker of mine is selling a knife, but he is not sure what it is worth. I told him that I would check the forum for advice.

Markings are as follows:

Tanto, stone washed, 3-4" blade, chisel grind, combo edge
Bali-Song with butterfly logo
ATS 64, Spec War Model COC7, Emerson
folder, black scales, thumb stud release with a snap of the wrist

These are all the features and prints on this knife that I made note of. If anyone can explain what they mean and tell if this knife is a quality folder, I will be happy to pass the information on to him, he would really appreciate it. What is it worth? Thanks for the help.

Benchmade CQC-7, Ernest Emerson designed. No longer in production. And yes, I'd say its a quality knife. :) (I believe the blade steel is ATS 34 BTW, not ATS 64...)

No idea of value... someone else will know better than me... I'd *GUESS* $125 to $150 if its in good condition, if used, I'd *GUESS* around/under 100 depending on condition... but I really have no idea of value.

Balis Edge nailed it. Check what they are going for on the forums and on Ebay or other auction sites to get an idea of a price he is comfortable with selling it for.

Yup, Benchmade made, Ernest Emerson designed CQC7. And the blade is ATS-34 (although I think they made a titanium version as well). Chisel grind, bead blast finish, thumb disc opening with titanium liners and lock, black G10 handle scales. Based on Emerson's CQC6, but now out of production (Emerson has his own line of knives now). Below is a link to one on eBay that's at $88 right now. It will probably end right around there. It definitely is a quality knife--this knife is probably the reason you see all those chisel ground folders nowadays. It made the "tactical folder" a must have--although I think the grind is on the wrong side for right-handers (at least mine is anyway).
