Hey someone on this forums said that you could help with knife customizing and sent me here. I am considering buying a Spyderco Tenacious but theres two things I want to change. I would like a deeper profile pocket clip which everybody says you can do. And I was thinking about waving the blade. I wanted to do it in this form (http://www.alpharubicon.com/leo/speedkngoshin.htm) and they said to consult you about it. Also, is it easy to make replacement handles for knives like Spyderco?
Thanks,

Haven't even handled one of the models you speak of so I don't know on the handles. Sometimes the foreign made ones are very tricky for stuff like that. I'd just have to see it.

I am not familiar with the pocket clip on that model either so I'd have to see it to know if I can do a low rider to replace it or if I'd have to drill at least one new hole to thread to make one work.(with your permission if thats what you want of course)

Wave. Yes I can Wave it but I'd have to caution you against cutting into the opening hole for what it may and possibly will do to the strength of the blade. That can drastically weaken the blade so I'd say since I have more than proven that doing that is not necessary because you can put a much smaller more strength minded Wave hook in the blade and still get just as reliable a use that you should just allow me to do that rather than cut into the opening hole. If you insist though, I'll do that but consider yourself advised. ;)

Thanks for asking. Post a pic or link to it or something. I really need pics on the ones I am not familiar with sometimes.

There's a picture of the Tenacious and how would you put on a "wave" thing. Do you have pictures of knives you've done it to?

I'm more concerned about the low rider. Its going to be tight if its at all possible.

The two far mounted screws are what I use to make the fold over part of the low rider sit between. It looks like a low rider using those mount screws will be awefully thin there but without actually seeing the folder I can't properly gauge whether it will work. Also, the hole in the middle for the pivot is a concern. If that pivot screw sticks up some it won't allow a clip to sit flat which means drilling a hole in the low rider which will make it even weaker still and I'm already a bit concerned about strength. I hate modifying the knife I really do but if nothing else will work and you just have to have a low rider clip it may be the only way to pull one off.

Wave? I have not done that one but I do have a thread or two here on some Spydercos I've done for folks. I'll try to find some since you can't use the search here and if I can find them I'll post them up. Also, I have a work order form I'd need for anything mailed to me. It can be found top the page in the Low Rider clip and mailing instructions thread here on page one.

Here is one I found on a Delica 4. I've deleted so many old pictures I had trouble finding one at all. Sorry. I only get 50MB of space for pictures with my knife maker forum and I always push it to the limit so often times I'm having to delete some pics to load new ones. Its just how it goes here. Sorry. I think this shows what I have in mind for yours. And actually based on the request to Wave it I need to scratch all the above info. Forget about it. I must be having another brain fart or something. Anyway, if you want a Wave then the only way you can use it is to flip the clip to tip up carry so obviously I need to drill and thread new holes and obviously I can make a clip to fit for that and mount it any way I want. Dahhhhhh! Sorry man. I'm just out of it or something I guess.

$30 each plus shipping. The work order form is in the Low Rider clip and all you need to get it to me is there in the form including my pay pal address but pay when its done.

Thanks

Awesome I will be saving my pennies up so I can get you to to do that for me. And how do you attach the "wave" thing do you weld or soder it?

I cut it out of the existing blade. I assume you saw the picture of the Spyderco.

Done it a whole lot. Don't worry. You'll love it!

No no. No need to really. What I've done works quite well and folks usually say they are surprisingly easy to catch all the time.

No big deal if thats not what you want. Your call mate.

Thanks

Sure. Thats the faster easier better way to do a Spyderco. The so called SpyderHump that is raised up offers a premium spot to put a pocket hook and it works very well since it already sits up higher than the profile of the handle on most all of them.
