WOW!! I was impressed. This knife from Allen is absolute perfection and beyond all of my wildest expectations.

We had been planning this knife for several months and I had no idea that it would come out this nice.

It is based on his "Persian" model, but is constructed almost entirely of stainless "Damasteel", with the blade twist pattern and the handle rose pattern. Even the backside spacer is Damasteel. The components are deeply etched and polished to bring out and highlight the figure of the material. It is so cool to run your fingers over the surfaces of the knife & feel the different layers.

The styling, feel and balance of the knife are all seamlessly morphed into a well integrated package. An example of the attention to detail on this knife which one may not notice, is the lightening cuts on the inside surfaces of the handle to decrease weight and improve balance.

The usual razor edge, smooth action and solid lockup I have come to expect from Allen's knives were characteristics of this knife as well.

All in all, Allen has taken his knifemaking to a new level. I feel extremely lucky to own this marvel of the art of handmade custom knives.

Stay sharp!

Gorgeous knife! What more can I say? If you don't mind me asking, what's the price for something like this? Gotta put it on my future knives list.

It's only a mistake if you fail to learn from it!

Jim,

What a gorgeous knife! A true work of art! Humbling to see such exquisite designs brought to life by artists like Allen, isn't it?

Wow, what a knife! Is that a liner lock or integral?

Glad you guys like it!

To answer your questions, it is priced at $700 (due to the excessive amount of Damasteel and all of the associated polishing) and is a leaf lock.

The blue anodized titanium leaf locking bar is located in a recess machined on the inside of the Damasteel handle and is held in place with 2 threaded fasteners. Very cool.

You can read a description of the knife and see its brothers & sisters on the Elishewitz knives website.

WOW isn't a big enough word for it.

That thing looks beautiful.

Now I have to stop drooling before I hurt my keyboard.

Jim,
Congratulations! It seems you have made a good purchase. That is by far the nicest knife I have seen from Allen! The shape is very sexy and the attention to detail you describe is superb.
(Judging from the quality coming out of speedtech, I can assume that knife is superbly crafted for you to be impressed!)

Allen's work just keeps getting better and better.

Take Care,
Al

have a"knife"day

Very nice!! Enjoy it, it's really beautiful!I was considering it but it's not in the budget right now. With the Canadian exchange and taxes, it's way up there. Could you elaborate on the leaf lock? And how does the knife compare to a fancy specter, which is my other favorite from AE.

Jim-

Here is my pride and joy from Allen in Damasteel: http://albums.photopoint,com/j/ViewPhoto?u=94891&a=693038&p=14743222

It is #3 of 10 of the Polaris. Collabaration of him and Joel Pirela.
It is my first knife with Damasteel, and I am quite impressed.
Handles are satin finish carbon fiber, and 3 3/4" blade.
Goes well with my Shadow which has polished carbon fiber handles.
Yours and those on his website are great looking knives.Pictures don't due the Damasteel justice compared to seeing them in hand.
Enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.

The knives are beautiful. In addition, Elishewitz is great on service as well. About a year after I bought one of his knives, I noticed that the tip of the blade was hitting against the inside back of the knife when closed. I showed it to Allen and he repaired it promptly with no hassle.

I absolutely hate this forum. I ordered one of the all damasteel knives within 2 hours of viewing the pictures. Now Allen's web site is almost at the top of my knife bookmark list (I do have some for my work and there are (but barely) things other than knives.))
