The wife, and I went down to Oakland, CA to see Patrick, Josh, and Evan at TAD, and bought 2 new great customs while there.
Luana had ordered a Larry Davidson TAD D/A Kokopelli so that was the main reason for going.

She is very pleased with the Kokopelli. Fits her small(compared to mine) hands perfectly Great workmanship, and D/A action is excellent. It has the Larry Chew needle bearing pivot, and is so smooth(just like my Larry Chew Covert Spitfire D/A). Has a nice 3 1/2" curve 440-V blade that she also likes. This is not her first D/A, but is her first custom D/A, and she really likes it. (There is a picture of it on Triple Aught Design website under "customs", Larry Davidson).

Also while there they showed us the new Brad Duncan Whiplash D/A with the new Sharpfusion blade, and I fell in lust, and had to have it. His knife is also great workmanship. And must say also a very smooth action, and bearing pivot he is using is very smooth!!! If I had to say which is better, the Larry Chew, Larry Davidson, or Brad's, it would be a very difficult decision, as they are the best I have ever held or owned. The stellite blade on Brad's knife is very hard, and looks like it will hold a very good edge without having to resharpen very often. I do carry, and use my customs, and don't just put them in a safe to look at once in a while. An excellent knife also. (There is a picture of it on the Triple Aught Design website also).

I would show pictures but I am having a problem with my scanner at the moment so hope it is ok to mention the pictures being on Triple Aught Designs website. Not trying any sales here, just have no other way to have pictures of both of these great knives. Hope I am not out of bounds on this.

Just wanted to post here about them, and compliment both Larry Davidson, and Brad Duncan on making such great knives, and we both are very pleased with them.

Oooohh, pics...I want pics. Larry D's knives are fantastic, just got mine 3 weeks ago. Enjoy your new customs.

I saw Larry and Brad at Spirit of Steel last week. Larry must be popular, since he didn't have any knives to sell. I was lucky to get a Whiplash/Stellite Fusion from Brad. Seems like both of them were just getting started at last years show. They have moved up fast. Quality stuff and nice guys to boot. And I nearly forgot the best part-they are Texans and live close by. lol

LD does some sweet work. I got to check a few of his knives thursday( at Kevin Robinson's table. Kevin is also making some nice knives http://www.robinsoncustomknives.com/ . I was very tempted to buy one of his folders but I got distracted by a Hunter/Killer by Jerry Hossom at the next table.:D I also picked up one of Brad's sharpfusion folders. You really have to hold one to realize how smooth they are. Its good to see all these Texas guys making such great knives. Great score Larry! Enjoy.:)

Larry Luana- Your wife would have to be pleased with that Davidson. I would hate to have to say who makes a better folder, Chew, Duncan or Davidson. They all three make awesome knives. Brad does have that monster edge going for him. :) His folders do have exceptionally smooth action.

Sharpfusion will make you lust. It did it to me to on Snody's test Blade, so I can only imagine the drool I would leave on a finished sharpfusion knife.

I totally agree with you on hard decison on those 3 knifemakers. Larry Chew is well established, and Larry Davidson, Brad Duncan are coming up fast.
They all do excellent work, and are some of the best. That is why I(we) have a knife from each of them. They are all top quality, and the pivot systems on them are the best in the business.
Like the 440-V blades in the Larry Chew, and Larry Davidson that we got, but that Sharpfusion is something else!!! Hard to explain it until you use it.
Great knives by great people. All great to deal with, and enjoy talking to.
What more can I say.
Thanks for your input.....

Larry
